2007 S550 No Cabin Power

2007 S550 Base Both batteries are new. Drove fine, next day no cabin power. Like the auxiliary battery was gone. But it's brand new < month old All the fuses in the engine bay are good.

Airmatic issues solved with new pump

I've posted several times about my problems with Airmatic. Today I replaced the pump and it's made a world of difference. I'm posting this in the hope it may help some future reader with similar intermittent issues. For background, my car would drop in front for no good reason. SDS lead me to replace the valve, which helped a lot so it was definitely bad, and one of the front height sensors, which didn't seem to do much of anything. Hello to all, I believe that the idling RPM should be between 700 or between 700-800? How can I adjust this? I just changed my ABS relay and hoping that the air & fuel would adjust by itself. I used to have a problem with the ABS light at cluster would go on/off and the car would never start on first crank/start. 1994 E320 wagon with about 190k miles. Help!!! Hood won't lock/close completely

Today I popped the hood to fill the washer fluid and when I went to close it, it wouldn't lock. Tried it numerous times and still won't lock shut. So now it's basically only being partially held down by the release latch. Pretty big safety hazard if I try and drive at high speeds. Anyone have any suggestions?? Nothing seems to be broken, misaligned or obstructing it from closing all the way.

Taking a poll here: Do you prefer 0W30 or 5W30 for your OM642? I live in a temperate area of the USA with temperatures ranging from 0F to 100F. My car has 180,000 miles on it and I am using 5W30. It definitely can be a little hard to start on very cold days, but I like the added viscosity given the age of the engine for our hot summer days. Probably not much difference between the two though. sl600 bad diagnostic port and other gremlins

The 38 pin Diagnostic port is dead (M120.983 engine) per an attempt to scan by a Mercedes repair shop, and nothing will flash on the 38 pin diagnostic port, except for pin 23 (ATA alarm, flashes once indicating no codes). If I jumper a ground wire to pin 85 of the fuel pump relay (FPR) the car starts and sounds great, but acceleration is very poor and the engine runs rich. The tach (RPM counter) doesn't work and the oil pressure gauge doesn't work, but everything else in the instrument... sl600 bad diagnostic port and other gremlins

Its been 6 years since I was last on benzworld. Back then I had a 84 euro 500 SEC AMG and a 78 euro 350SL Lorinser and 2 black R129s a 500 and a 300. In 2017 i sold the last of my benz's. Now 6 years later luck brought me back to Mercedes with a 99 SL500. Needs a softtop and the rams fixed. Both have already been ordered. Runs like new, all bushings under the car have been replaced and she runs so quite you have to look at the tach to make sure is running. So I guess I am back for now. In... A come back new member

I've seen a few posts about fitting a double din unit and new/altered panel, but I think looking all the way down at the screen near the gear selector while driving isn't the best idea -my driving is bad enough already without such a distraction. It's occurred to me that I could build my own box to mount the head unit on the top centre of the dash panel, and trim into the console so that the rear of the unit sits a little lower, out of the road view. Hi, I'm new to the forum but a long time reader. In 2017 when I was stationed in Germany I bought a used (like new) 2013 GL550 X166 with about 65k miles on it. I believe it was originally sold to someone in Canada and they imported it to Europe. We needed the space because my mother-in-law lived with us and we liked to travel Europe and uhh..... Moreover half of the long vents under windscreen also don't blow air, but the another half of the driver side blows fine. Hi, I have a Mercedes E 500 2003 and I love this car. It's my first actually. I have a question tho. My cars AC and heated seats aren't working. It shows a "Malfunction Electrical Consumers switched off" after I turn on the car. If it's been sitting for a bit it works for a minute or two but then it turns off. If the heated seats were on they start flashing. If anyone knows what's going on that would be tremendous. Thank you!

Fuel Pump Bracket Removal??

Hey guys Happy Halloween!! The screw that tigthens the fuel pump bracket is stripped and rusted on which prevents me from getting the brackets around the fuel pump and fuel filter loose. Any recommendations? I was thinking about just taking the whole entire bracket off that is bolted to the car and installing a new bracket that goes around the fuel pump and fuel filter. Just the title. It's so much cheaper than even shell 134 at 17 dollars a gallon, and it's readily available on the shelf at Walmart. I've used it in my 99 w210, and the car shifted flawlessly for about a year before I crashed it. ? I know MaxLife isn't OFFICIALLY approved as meeting 236.10 spec, but it is listed as compatable for the NAG-1, which is the 722.6. Has there been as SINGLE reported transmission failure because of the MaxLife ATF? There's so much conflicting info on weather... Final verdict of Valvoline MaxLife for the 722.6?

Blind Spot Assist

Just joined, longtime MB owner. I just swapped my 2011 E350 wagon (with distronic) for a 2020 E450 also with driver assist. Regarding blind spot assist, on my old car, a yellow triangle would appear when speeds were too low to activate. Also, the red triangle would appear anytime I approached another car to my side, when I was alongside, in effect anytime it was not safe to make a lane change. There's a half inch across dead pixel zone in the center of the non-HK non-nav COMAND screen. I don't use COMAND other than selecting AUX and setting volume but it's annoying to see the black spot. What should I look for in a good used COMAND unit (e.g., year, options) for simplest replacement? Is there coding involved? Hi, I have a w208 cabrio and replaced the windshield this weekend from another w208 coupe windshield. it is the same windshield but the only difference was the way that the rear view mirror gets mounted. The rear view mirror for the cabrio gets affixed onto the windshield directly so the installer removed the mounting bracket from the broken windshield from cabrio model as he didn't have the special glue at that time and gave to me but I think I lost it... it looks like a 50-cent coin... W124 Ball Joint replacement (my experience)

I can't express my thanks enough to the Benzworld community. As part of my appreciation, below is my experience replacing a w124 ball joint. 1. All of my prior W124 and R129 experience was with non serviceable ball joints. In other words, I've begun (ordering parts and borrowing tools) only to find out, the entire arm needs to be replaced. 2. Just bought a 2002 ml 320 that had been sitting for a year. It wasn't running due to drained battery and bald front tires. Owner informed me that he parked it because he got a new vehicle & that it needed a new brake booster seal and possibly a fuel pump he thought because it was having a hard time starting at times. I had it towed to me. Visual inspection of mechanical everything looks really good. 273,000km. Charges battery and started pretty rough... No accleration/No pedal response in 2nd gear P0341

I am a fan of diesels and was attracted to Mercedes because I thought they had the best diesels cars. 2008 E320 Bluetec Limp Mode

Need some help. My 2008 E320 Bluetec goes into limp mode - took it to a shop they diagnosed 1) Turbo, 2) Turbo actuator, 3) MAP and MAF sensors, 4) Air Filters, 4) Fuel Pump, 5) Vacuum assist. All of these things were replaced and the MAP and MAF sensors twice. Still has the problem. (angry) I bought myself an OBDII reader for Mercedes (iCarsoft MB V3.0) and it is telling me there is (1) a downstream pressure differential that is out of spec (MAF and MAP sensors) and (2) the turbo... 2008 E320 Bluetec Limp Mode

I have looked around online, looking for which part number to use, if "upgrading" from the stock, blue faced hood emblem, to one that is black. (For my Obsidian black W204.) The original badge has part number A 204 817 06 16 embossed, which is the one with spring loaded tabs on the back side. The new, black emblem is called A 000 817 33 05. Hello, Im going to change transmission on my W210 E55 amg from year 2000. The gearbox in the car is a 722.624. I have found a 1999 S500 with 722.636 trans. The S500 has 306 hp and 460NM torque. My E55 has 354hp and 530NM torque. What would the differences be? Clutch packs? The valvebodies are the same (confirmed). Anyone knows?

I have found a 1999 S500 with 722.636 trans. The S500 has 306 hp and 460NM torque. My E55 has 354hp and 530NM torque.

ABS/power steering

Twice now, the ABS warning light has come on. Once last night in very wet weather, and again this morning in very wet weather. When I started out this morning the ABS light did not come on until a few minutes into my journey, and several very deep puddles and small floods. At the same time the power steering gets noticeably heavier. I thought it was just my imagination but after a brief stop when the ABS light did not come back on, the steering was back to normal. The question is...is... ABS/power steering

Code p0341 total loss of power 3rd gear

First gear & second gear feel perfect. Goes to shift into third and loses power completely even with accelerator floored. Getting code p0341 only. Changed cam sensor and checked fuse & its still doing the same thing. Once I hit 60km/hr it totally loses power. It will kick back in when lose speed to keep me going 60. Very weird. C55 headunit issues

I bought my c55 amg about a year ago with a Sony headunit already installed. Up until a month or 2 ago it has been working fine. Sometimes while driving the unit will lose all power. Sometimes it would start with the headunit having no power but would turn on sometime during the drive. It has had no power the past week but randomly turned on today only for it to turn off 2 drives later in the middle of the drive. When it lost the power there was a "display malfunction" warning on the dash... C55 headunit issues

hello I have a new problem.I did fix the problem with the gas gauge not working witch it was the sending unit in the tank.The car start it after that I park the car and when I went to start the car again it did not start.I put it on the scanner and I got code PO341 "Camshaft Position Sensor ". I replace it with a new one from Bosch. But still don't want to start and keep getting the same code PO341 even if I erase it Please can someone help.Thank you

My little red tomato never lets me down, gets home every time BUT... I THINK it has something to do with heat. Car starts perfect, warms up fine, hits 180 degrees and starts to flood at idle. As long as you keep it moving over 40, it'll run fine. Probably a LITTLE rich, but it ran just fine until it didn't. Cleaned air/coolant sensors, TPS, gave it a good talking to, everything checks out with a meter. Hello everyone, I have a mercedes 190e 1988 2.0, and i have a idle problem which i suspect is from the O2 sensor. When the car is cold it idles about 1000rpm, but when it warms up the idle goes to 1500-1700rpm. 500 SL Squealing Noise Under Hood

I have a 1992 500 SL with approx. 108,000 miles on it. The car is in great shape. I do have a couple of small problems I'm working on. Ok, I'll get to the point. I have a squealing noise coming from under the hood. Narrowing things down, It only happens when I have the air conditioner on and then only when I give it gas going down the road. 99 SL 500 dash noise

Has anyone had a dash squeak in their SL 500. If so how did you locate and fix. I recently purchased this vehicle with 34Kmiles. The car is in great shape with the exception of the noise. It seems to be coming from the passenger side when I am driving, but the passenger seems to think it is coming from the center. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Coolant connection failure

2015 ML350 4-Matic 6 cyl. I just had a coolant line break off the firewall in front of the driver (Left side). The bead end of the plastic barb remained in the hose. I tried to pull it out with a small diameter metal rod with a 90 on the end, it was not moving. I squeezed the hose (very little force) and the plastic end that remained inside the hose just crumbled. I was able to push the hose back on about 1/2" and clamp it with a standard worm gear hose clamp just to get the vehicle... Coolant connection failure

2002 W210 Wagon (Estate) Fuel Tank Strainer Doesn't Do Anything?

I am/was going to change my 2002 E320 Wagon fuel tank strainer p/n 1114700686, but I'm just not seeing how it does any 'straining' at all. Hoping I'm just not seeing something obvious. Attached are pictures of the strainer. There is no provision for a fuel tank exit hose (that would normally go to the fuel pump) in the bottom of the strainer, like I've seen on other models. Got a check engine light, and the code is 4 "blinks" for "air injection inoperable." I've seen where some guys try to bypass their pump and just roll with it not working. My question: is it safe to just let it not work? Car's been driving beautifully, and in a warm-weather climate, I'm not really sure I need that pump?
