R129 Overheating Mystery

1998 SL500 Replaced thermostat, fan clutch, flushed system and still have an over heating problem. Goes to 120C after 15 minutes or so, engine goes above 1500rpm stopped or driving, temp drops to 100C. I can repeat this every time the car idles (120C) and when the engine revs up, drops to 100C. The upper hose is very hot and pressurized, while the lower hose is much cooler. Both the old thermostat and new thermostat were tested and both open at 80C. The heater runs hot, so I assume the... Fuel conssuption in mercedes bclass w246 1.6 turbo engine

Hello, Lately i bought merceds bclass w246 1.6 turbo engine(122hp). And i think that there is some problem with the fuel conssumption. For exapmle today I filled 35 liters and drove 246 km. Most of my trips are urban with air conditioner. Is that okay? And if not what could be the problem? Thanks

Just bought an EQS. Very excited. Have a few questions about public charging. Does the 2-year free charging start when you purchase the car or when you activate the Mercedes me Charge? Currently, I am charging at home and do not have to go out to charge. Maybe I can delay the two-year period for a few months. oil filter

I purchased my first oil filter from the MB dealership here in Louisville KY. When I got home and took it out of the box the filter had an orange perforated wrapping around it. In the 10 years I've owned my 500SL I've never seen that on the other filter brands. So my (hope it's not too stupid) question is does the wrapping stay on or do I take it off before installing? I never bought any of the EPC (WIS) disks from Ebay. The Mercedes.7zap.com site that used to work sometimes never works at all now if you try to go in more than a couple of links deep. Previously, I was able to compile this list of all the exhaust parts between the cats (under the manifolds on my car) and the resonator. Getting some push back from different sources on the correct numbers for my VIN. Was wondering if anybody who had an EPC and was in a good mood could take a crack at... Hi, Im building a 1952 Plymouth with a OM603 superturbo diesel, coupled to an 722.634 transmission with OFgear controller. w124 PS Rear seat headrest up position query

At issue: PS rear seat headrest will not stay up When I pull the DS rear seat headrest to the 'up position', it clicks into place and stays up. For the PS unit, it will not stay up in place (and no clicking can be heard). Release button does work to drop the DS headrest when I tested it. PS rear headrest is down for this test. side note: I also have the rear sunshade option. Hi, I recently repainted my '85 wagon and in the process I had the shop change the dash to the best I could find which was an earlier "lever fresh air" type. My old dash had the dash mounted sensor vent but the sensor was not there - seemed broken off. And of course the foam tube was disintegrated as well. I know I can find a sensor, so while I wait for it to arrive can anyone point me to where the cable for the temp sensor originated from? I can't seem to find any dangling cable, so... Trying to find out why my AC compressor doesn't start. I've got a 300 CE-24 with the 124.980 engine. The AC relay is build in to the MAS module. What i have tested so far: Pressure switch has continuity over the terminals = Pressure in the system Putting 12 volts directly on the compressor makes the clutch click What i have tested but seems a bit strange: - There is ground on both pressure switch terminals(12 volts between the terminals and + on the battery). How can I stop diesel fuel thermostat leak?

I have a 1987 300TDT with the OM603 engine. The diesel fuel thermostat has a small leak, which I'd rather fix instead of replacing the whole thing, which seems like a waste of money. Do I need to buy only an O-ring or gasket? Are there instructions/DIY for how to do the repair? Any idea what Mercedes part number I need for a new O-ring (or whatever I need to replace to stop the leak?). Thanks.

Convertible top hyd pump orientation

I know this may sound strange. What is the proper orientation of the hydraulic pump in the 2006 SL500? Reservoir forward or to the rear? Also, if it isn't in the right position, will the top not work? The one in my car has the reservoir forward. All the other SL500's I've seen on the 'net have it to the rear. I want to make sure which way it is supposed to go before I go any further diagnosing why the top doesn't work.

HELP , fuel hose part numbers? 420SEL

These three hoses are dry and cracked. I have been searching but not sure what the part numbers are. I found that it might be 1264703575 for one and 1264703375 for another Not sure if this is correct, also I have no idea about the third hose I highlighted in the photo. I don't want to do what most people do where they cut off the rubber and redo it with new rubber and clamps

I have a 91 420SEL (black on black) with 100K on the clock. Broke a chain guide and you know the rest. Does anyone know of anyone in North Texas (Dallas area) that might rebuild it? Hi i have an issue with the abs. While i was driving and pressed the brake pedal the absbas and esp errors lit and dissapeard again for about 5 km then came back on. When i did diagnostics, the ABS module gave out an fault saying error communicating with engine ecu. wanted to ask u guys first what should i check before driving it to the workshop to get it looked at.

Facelift issues???

I have a 2016 E350 luxury 4Matic. Thank god I bought the extended warranty! I've only owned it for a year and have put 12,000 miles on it. In those 12,000 miles The motor mounts have had to be replaced, the valve cover gaskets and timing gasket have been had to been resealed, the transmission has had to be resealed, and now I'm told the front differential needs to be resealed because it's leaking. I haven't had a problem with any of the electronics in the car. It has distronic plus as well... Facelift issues???

2005 CLK500 Cabriolet Keyfob IR not activating top.

My keyfob locks/unlocks the doors, it opens the trunk, and starts the vehicle. What it DOESN'T do is open/close the convertible top or roll the windows up or down using the keyfob and the door handle sensor. It sometimes works, but even when it works, only when the fob is nearly touching the sensor. The top works fine using the console switch. Fresh battery didn't help. Tail light wiring layout?

What's up guys. I have been changing all my lights (interior and exterior) on my '06 c230 from halogen to LED. So far so good. I ordered some bright red LED bulbs I want to use for my rear turn signals, brake lights and running lights. I also got the same bright LED bulbs but in white for the reverse lights. I'm going to need to use load resistors for the signal bulbs to prevent the hyper flash, and possibly for every other light. I already purchased these from Amazon... Tail light wiring layout?

2000 interior into 2003 car

I have found a 2003 with 75k miles that runs fine but needs an interior. My 2000 160k miles has reached the point where it has too many issues to continue pouring $$ into it. 1 question I have is this: my 2000 has heated seats the panel has 3 switches on either side of the emergency flasher button. Serpentine Belt, siezed ac compressor. What length to bypass?

So ac compressor seized. 3 mechanics, one auto part store, and a parts geek customer care rep advised me under no circumstances to get the cheap compressor or the rebuilt, or I will be dead in water again. (been down over a month), all of these people also agreed you can't bypass the ac compressor pulley. I was using my Google-Fu and found a thread, with what I though was one person with W251, 2008, R-Class, post they did it. I also vaguely remember a belt length for the bypass.. So I get... Since I got the car, the seatbelt light was not working. It doesn't turn on at all. I did check the LED that provides light for the indicator and it was working as it should. I know a little about the previous owner of the car and I think it was a bit of a cowboy, not wearing any seatbelts, so she must have turned it off. I've searched everywhere in DAS but I can't seem to find it. Did they hijack the wiring? That will cause another issue of too much airbags going off If I ever get in an... Seatbelt light not working

Aircon unit error 1241...back...

well I though I had cracked this yesterday, but it come back to me. The AC keeps going into econ only. the error code 1241 (which is refrigarant level low) comes up. you reset it and its ok again for a while then comes back. I had the level checked and its ok so I think its fair to suspect the pressure sensor. Any ideas where the sensor is located? I am a pretty good mech so can change the sensor and regass myself but if its buried under a ton of wires, intakes etc I might just take it to... Aircon unit error 1241...back...

Just wondering if there's anyone that has found an inexpensive option for to be able to play their own music on their 2012 gl350 bluetec? I have the Bluetooth connection that provides me with wireless hands free calling, but I can't play my Spotify playlist through my radio. Is there an adapter that I might be able to buy on Amazon that'll allow me to play my own music?

1973 280 SEL 4.5: Anyone have any idea if it is possible to find the grooved rubber gasket that surrounds the entire exterior perimeter of the instrument cluster (keeps in in place and free from moving)? I think it was originally glued on? And what glue would you recommend to put it on with? I think it looks something like the one in the photo. Called Jon at the Classic Center and he did not know. 411 cab size

Alright, I'm bored and haven't been able to get an answer even after searching the entirety of the intrawebs. I am soon going to be picking up a 411 project and am wondering if I will even fit in the cab once I complete it. I can squeeze into a 404 and wear it like a glove. But I can't tell if the 411 is the same size or much smaller. Anyone have any thoughts. I'm 6'5" and 265lbs. So not small.

Hi all. I have a 2003 CLK 320 convertible . It was purchased from a second hand car dealer, who told me it had been his wife's car for a while. The previous owner apparently tried to open the roof in high winds and supposedly damaged the roof, which cost a few grand to fix. Can not fully fill up gas tank on 07 s550

My gas tank does not get filled up for more than 75% of gas tank's capacity; I have to "manually" re pump every time the hose head pops off because it thinks fuel tank is full . Anyone had this issue before? Very annoying. I have read something about charcoal filter? If this is the culprit how much should I except if I take it to a local mechanic. Also, how bad is this issue can it become worse or should I just live with it LoL.

Does anyone have a diagram of the start circuit? My car won't crank and was told the TCM is indoctrinated in the conductor plate on valve body of trans I'm trying to trace back to neutral safety switch and TCM.. To see if this is the problem.. Thanks

M112 E320 stumble/rough/misfire at idle *ELECTRICAL LOAD RELATED*

I've got a 1999 W210 E320 M112. 240,000km Love the car, drives perfect other than a low idle/stumble when slowing down/coasting to a stop or using electrical load. Feels like the RPM isnt adjusting for the electrical load of power windows, A/C, etc, at idle and the car is getting close to stalling out. No codes. Only happens in Drive or Reverse. Also getting some high-ish long term fuel trims but nothing really to get upset about. One anomaly in the live data is the short term fuel trim... I have a 1999 E55 avantguard. My local dealers say they think it's been lowered and it does have a hard ride and the springs do not have the coloured stripes that the originals would have had. The car has travelled 240kms and I don't know the history, so I figured I'd go to new factory springs. The problem is, I live in New Zealand where we pay as much for shipping as we do for the springs themselves and it looks like I misread the points system chart, so now I have some springs that may... Shortcut with water in floorboard question.

Hi so last year I had water in the passenger floorboard. I did some checking at it was a plugged drain in that side of the sunroof. Now I have a drivers side floorboard that is wet. Is it possible its the opposite sunroof drain? On other models I have seen that beneath the hood there is something near the firewall. A drain maybe. People make a mesh barrier to keep debris out. But I am not sure if that is true for the c280. Any tips?

CLS500 Steering controls stopped working

When I got into my 2006 CLS500 today and the steering wheel controls stopped working. It stays on the audio but I can no longer change the station or volume through the steering wheel. I can change the controls only thorough the center console. Also the horn does not work. Is this a fuse? Can someone help? Thanks, Jordan
