Cabin temp sensor wiring

Hi, I recently repainted my '85 wagon and in the process I had the shop change the dash to the best I could find which was an earlier "lever fresh air" type. My old dash had the dash mounted sensor vent but the sensor was not there - seemed broken off. And of course the foam tube was disintegrated as well. I know I can find a sensor, so while I wait for it to arrive can anyone point me to where the cable for the temp sensor originated from? I can't seem to find any dangling cable, so...
