I had to replace one exhaust rocker arm on my 2000 ML230. While I was in the engine I replaced the valve stem seals. I have the torque specs for the 26 long rocker shaft bolts but can't find the torque spec for the two shot bolts on the left head. Please help.

Rusted lug nuts

So I have 101k on my 2008 beauty and I can't stop looking at the rusted lug nuts. Sure I've looked around at possible replacements, but how can I be sure they will fit? I mean I can live with it, but is there an alternative?

2008 ML320 nav/radio display dim

Hi, As the title states the display was bright and vibrant then all of a sudden went to about 1/2 brightness. I removed the small cover below HVAC to get at the remote start unit. Now the display is dim? Thanks,Gary

W203 2002 C240 front upper control arm bushing rerplacement question

I am going to replace the bushing only in the front upper control arm as the ball joint is fine. I can't find the correct orientation diagram when installing the new bushing in the arm or the torque values for the nuts/ bolts. Does anyone have this information? Thanks

$800 to Replace Water Pump??

I have a 2002 ML55 that I keep in cherry condiiton. Only 83k miles. Water pump was found to be 'loose' at the 'B' Service just done. The dealership I go to tells me to take off the old rusted bolts to the old pump and replace with a new pump, all told, will be over $800. Sound right to you guys??

Blow fuse using right directional

Hey yall new to this page and was looking for some insight. I have a 1999 s320 with the 3.2l inline 6 with 150k. Before doing the rust work on the body I wasn't able to use my right directional without blowing the 20amp fuse. That issue randomly started happening out of nowhere. I did the rust work and pulled the tail lights so I could do all of it and now it constantly peeps at me when I'm driving down the road and I have no tail lights at all. w204 14 c300 4 matic ac issue

Hello guys, I got an error code in my ac after finding the light blinking indicating an AC issue. Error code said refrigerant pressure to low or to high etc. I am not sure if its the sensor as my AC manifold gauges indicate low side is high at 77 psi and low on the high side at 75. I want to fill with a seal conditioner/UV leak dye/refrigerant/oil mix canister to see if there are truly any leaks. But I need to reset the unit or force the AC compressor on. W115 Tail Light Wiring

The connectors to the tail lights on my '71 220D lost their caps and the connectors came loose. I have figured out some of the wiring, but I am mot sure which go where. Would someone have a place where I could get a wiring diagram to see the wire colours and where the are positioned in the plug connector?

York ac compressor oil leak?

Hello all, I am curious if anyone out there has had an oil leaf from the bottom "oil pan" part of a York compressor? More detail: I have been trying to locate a small leak (nothing hits the floor - it's more like seepage) on my m110. Using a borescope it looks like the bottom of the ac compressor is coated in oil and appears to be where the issue starts. There's nothing over there (front passenger area) that I can see that would be leaking engine oil other than the head gasket behind... York ac compressor oil leak?

Are 'modern' Mercedes collectible....if only good for 10-15 years??

As the modern Mercedes (versus pre-1977 'vintage') have become more complex electronically; with so many more electronic modules that are no longer supported by Mercedes, or even module re-builders.........How collectible are these cars really going to be?? I have a W123 1985 300CD, durable car that will last forever; but the EGR module is NLA and only way to 'fix' it is to bypass it. I need a battery change on my 2002 r170 - I booked in at "Kwik Fit" and when I arrived I mentioned that they would need to keep power on to the computer to prevent data loss, they responded that "They couldn't guarantee that" - I got a refund and got the hell out of there... Reports I've heard so far range from only losing the radio code, to losing the radio code and the window limits (whatever they are) all the way to the alarm constantly going off, the car not re-starting and/ or... I'm about due for a fuel filter change. Got curious as to what diagnostic value changes when a fuel filter becomes clogged. I have both iCarSoft MB II and SDS. With older engines (602, 603, 606), I never went by mileage (unless I was about to go on a long trip). The clogging of a fuel filter was sudden and obvious....I would just wait for the symptom (the lack of power) and then change the filter. 300CE door seals...NLA?

Replace Lifters

Hi there, I am wondering if anyone has completed this and if you have any information around this? I cannot find much information even on WIS (still figuring it out). I have had an indy look at my 2011 s500 4.7tt, it has a constant tapping sound. On idle and whilst driving usually under load. He thinks it is a lifter causing me grief. So far, I have replaced the check valves, chain tensioner and cam adjuster to no avail. He does believe it is top end though not bottom. Any help would be... Replace Lifters

High temperature even after thermostat replacement

Hi, So my 1977 450SL started running at high temperature close to 212F when the AC is on about a month ago. I flushed the coolant and replaced it with new one (blue) and replaced the thermostat (75C). However, the temperature still goes close to 212F. If the AC is off the car sits at around 200F. Please note that the weather temperature here ranges from 86F to 113F. Thanks

Looking for a new project. I would love one of those old tiny Mercedes flatbeds you always see in movies that take place in Eastern Europe or the Middle East. Don't see many in Canada and I don't even know what model I'm supposed to search or what price one might go for. Any information would be awesome especially where I might want to look. AMG Exhaust

My wagon has the AMG package and the 5.5 with a very nice sounding factory exhaust. Very manly. If I hired an actor to duplicate the sound, it would be James Earl Jones. That darn exhaust just commands you to nail the gas at inappropriate times.

looked at an '02 slk320 my friend wants to buy ... cold engine... start it.. very loud and noticeable 'ticking' noise from one side of engine. revving it.. got a bit quieter... at one point went away... didnt drive car but idled it until warmer... and noise still present.. temp... 32F or so.. worst case - what could this be? valve issue? best case -??

O2 Sensor light coming on while driving - rough - 420SEL

I've noticed the O2 sensor light comes on while I drive - sometimes - and stays on until I stop, turn off and restart the car. When its present, the car behaves odd. Engine feels like its working harder to keep the car going, almost like a jerky motion The car idles rough when I stop and acceleration also feels somewhat affected. Wondering how to diagnose which O2 sensor could be the culprit? My knowledge of these cars is very primitive and I can't simply plug in a OBD scanner to figure it... 2002 ml320 delay lock and unlock

Good morning I have a 2002 ml320 with 80k miles. I have a problem when I press the button(lock or unlock). first of all It do not work at once. After pressing button several times, it works but takes a time too much. Sometimes it works immediately but it's rare. It's same siuation tried to do this after changing battery of FOB. I have a 2002 ml320 with 80k miles. I have a problem when I press the button(lock or unlock).
first of all It do not work at once. After pressing button several times, it works but takes a time too much.
Sometimes it works immediately but it's rare.
It's same siuation tried to do this after changing battery of FOB.

Where is the receiver of remote control??
What can I check for this problem???

Help! 2009 ML350 shift lever not operating correctly after replacing cruise control stalk.

Hello everyone! I'm in need of expertise! My ML350 was missing its cruise control stalk (original owner broke it and I finally just got to it). I managed to sort out a replacement lever without the whole assembly, just the lever. I disconnected the battery, removed the air bag, removed the steering wheel, eventually half the column and I was able to replace the part. I was very careful all connectors and the clockspring, I put everything back together, reconnected the battery started the... So the headlight switch is bad and doesn't click into place, extremely loose when turning knob to all the positions. When I turn the headlights on, all interior backlighting comes on but it's all extremely dim and strangely, the odometer and temp lcd's change to dim and the numbers can barely be seen. 73 450, injector seal from...?

Great day My newly installed engine seems to have heads from a K-Jet or ? My D-Jet injectors don't seat properly. Big surprise, well actually it is. So how to make or find out if this has been done before. Looks like the bottom seal is very close if not perfect. Merely getting the upper cup correct so the clamp holds some pressure.

‘83 380SL Revival

I picked a 380SL this weekend for what I consider a really good price. Only issue is that the last owner took the entire intake out to troubleshoot a poor running issue so now I get to rebuild the intake and make it run again. As well as triple check the timing chain job that was also done. She's in rather good shape for her age and is from Wisconsin / Illinois are so I was expecting some corrosion. Good day people. I have an issue with my E55. Whenever I press on the button for that, it switches in the little screen. But nothing happens C mode is same as S. It seems that the car is not responding for this. Also when I put it in manual I can not play with gear. The car chooses the right gear for the right speed. Any idea if what is the problem here. CL 500- C215 ABC pressure 1 bar

My friend brought his C215 which is creating only 1 Bar - to me to be fixed. It may have several issues, but somehow when we lifted the rear of the car, it started already to create pressure all of the sudden! It had 130 bar at idle and with 1200 rpm it had some 150 bar. Not sufficient but anyway something! When I started to calibrate the travel sensors all went OK when using high rpm and some 150 bar pressure. For the first time ever, the tank backed up just short of spilling out. I had the pump handle on the auto setting, and it stopped just under halfway. I thought it was the pump's problem, as sometimes you have pump handles that are worn and auto lock doesn't stay still. I went back to continue and it shut off again within two seconds--that's when I noticed the problem. 06 e320 cdi how to remove power steering hose from bracket!

I have a bad power steering leak right where the hoses connect to the rack by a bracket. I removed the one bolt connecting the hoses to the rack, but now I can't figure out how to get the hose off of the bracket(not sure if you can). I'll link some photos I took. The hose that is on the bottom towards the left is the one that is spraying fluid. Please help, I've been at this for days.

Hello I'm new on this form and this question may have been asked before. But I have Mercedes 2017 GLE350. I was driving on the interstate and I made a mistake and hit the paddle behind the steering wheel. Hi all - so I was out today with my new (to me) R230 SL500 and put the roof down... lovely.

But when I got to my destination, it wouldn't go back up! 😬

I had the following symptoms:

When I pushed the roof switch, the windows would shift down, but nothing further happened
No error messages showed up at all
The wind deflector and roll bar also would not move
I have the power trunk - this also would not open properly - the key fob released the latch so it "popped", but it...

Sds access to transmission

I seem to be able to access all modules on car except when I click on transmission one it asks about simulation and I get no choices but to go into that. Am I getting real info there. If not how do I communicate with it. Tried battery disconnect but still same message box. Always learning. Lol. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

How to find out Rear SAM part number

I have 2002 S430 manufactured before Sep.30,2002 (pre-facelift). Rear SAM is lost. There is no module on the fusebox. I would like to order used part but don't know exact part number. Does anybody know any resource to find out matching part number for it? Or, maybe somebody has the same car to look at it? Thank you!

W123 Coupe LH Rear Window Switch

Need help, why is it the when I push my window switch to go down the window goes up and when I push the window switch to go up the window goes down. However this only happens on the LH Rear switch all the others work normally. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you fix. Thanks in advance

A Class 2005 fuel gauge

Hi guys. I own a 2005 A class and yesterday I filled it up with petrol. Gauge showed full as per normal and I drove back home. After a couple hours I wanted to go for groceries and as soon I start the car the gauge needle showed up and stuck on 0 which shows empty. I turned it off and needle went down in the cluster, dissapeared as per normal. I started the car and still the same issue. I took the cluster out and the needle is fine. Is not stuck or anything and you can move it by hand... A Class 2005 fuel gauge

Dear Merc Lovers, We've had our Elegance in the family over 20 years, has only done approx. 88,000, full yearly service, well looked after. Last week, day 1 smelt burning after got home from work in traffic, was puzzled but didn't think anything of it, day 2 got home from work lost power while parking up, seen blue smoke from exhaust and burning smell again, checked coolant and oil both were low, topped up on both, car ok after hour.
