looked at an '02 slk320 my friend wants to buy ... cold engine... start it..
very loud and noticeable 'ticking' noise from one side of engine. revving it.. got a bit quieter... at one point went away...
didnt drive car but idled it until warmer... and noise still present.. temp... 32F or so..
worst case - what could this be? valve issue?
