E55 2006 W211 c/s/m

Good day people. I have an issue with my E55. Whenever I press on the button for that, it switches in the little screen. But nothing happens C mode is same as S. It seems that the car is not responding for this. Also when I put it in manual I can not play with gear. The car chooses the right gear for the right speed. Any idea if what is the problem here. Thank you
