How is the wood trim finished?

Hi, I'd like to attempt to clean up the interior in my new-to-me 300TE and that includes repairing cracks in the Zebrano wood trim. I don't need it to be Concours quality, but I'd like to try and fix the cracks. What is the upper most layer made of? Resin??
