Hello, What would be the consequences of removing the Exterior Lamp Failure Monitoring module/unit/relay (N7)? This module is located behind the fusebox, has a large size and has part numbers such as 126 542 00 32, 126 542 01 32, 126 542 03 32, maybe more variants with changes on the 7th and 8th digits. If any of the external lights (Low beam, high beam, fog, parking, tail, licence plate, stop, turn signal, rear fog and reversing light) fails/burns, the warning light on the cluster turns on... A 200 2006 - W169

Hi All, I recently purchased this vehicle, and it does not have a Bluetooth or aux adapter. I have phoned around to the local merc dealerships near me, and all say that I need to just replace the radio. Radio model is an MF2550. The radio does have phone capabilities, but the phone adapter is not installed. How did you "Upgrade" yours? Better to get the cables or replace the radio. I dont want to loose the steering wheel function.

Well I bought a new GLS 550 because there are no more diesel MB cars coming in to the USA. I was driving an ML350 Bluetec and loved it. Loved the torque and its fuel efficiency. I went for the bigger GLS because is it the only V8 left in an MB SUV. My dealer was able to find me a car which had all the options I wanted and none of the options I didn't want except the sunroof. Hi all Just bought this car and managed to drive 7 hours to get it home. Car has rough idle on D at lights etc with the occasional shudder but not stalling. Stumbled climbing uphill on the highway initially but got a little better after a couple of hours of driving on premium fuel. Previous owner said it was parked up for a year. Dash warning lights came on for SRS and lights but went away. Have managed to pull the idle control valve out and clean it. it was clogged. Bought a Bosch... Hello guys, I am working on some front suspension, I am changing out all the steering components with fresh new ones and need to fix my lower control arms. So I have the late style lower control arms, and will be swapping the bushings. Mercedes has a two variants of sportline one, the early one with harder durometer rubber sportline bushings and then the later one which they switched back to standard. Power steering pump reservoir

Power steering pump reservoir. Hello I have a 1996 Mercedes SL. 5.0. The power steering pump reservoir snapped where the hose connects. Would anybody have a clue on where to find a new one or is there another model reservoir that fits from a different vehicle such as the S 500 from the same time. Super frustrated I've been looking everywhere and can't seem to find.

2002 G500 sunroof won't open, but tilts up and down

When the sunroof is closed, the right side is slightly higher than the left in the back. When the sunroof is propped up and I try to slightly pry it up with my hand, the right side flexes and goes up, the left side is firm. It appears the lifting arm slipped off from the rail, but I cannot figure out how to disassemble the sunroof, since the first step calls for opening the roof and removing the lining. My brother picked up a military FLU419 last year at the GOV PLANET auction. He chopped and disposed off all the heavy farm parts (loader, back hoe, stabilizer arms) and hasn't messed with it much since. truck has 1600 miles on it. Hello All — I'm looking at purchasing a 560sl that I've found from a fairly reputable dealer in pretty good shape. The one major issue is that above 65/70mph the driver and passenger seats seems to kind of gently bob up and down, mainly from the front end. Is this common? Can it be fixed / corrected? Thanks!!!

Thinking of buying a 2008 GL450 with electrical issue

There's a very nice 2008 GL450 for $6500 I'm looking at, but it has an electrical issue that was draining the battery, so the previous owner installed a switch under the passenger seat. What kind of trouble do people think this is? Also, it has 175k miles on it, what do I need to look for? Are these decent cars for the mechanically inclined? I don't drive too much either. Wondering about opinions on this model's reliability and cost and any other opinions about it! Thank you!

In 2014 I replaced the water pump and the power steering pump because there was a nasty tapping noise coming from the drive train. I found the original power steering pump had about 2- 3mm end play and when the pulley/shaft moved in an out of the pump under load that was what caused the knocking sound. At the time I bought a dirt-cheap aftermarket pump and a new reservoir. The new pump never felt as mighty as the original one as far as I remember. The original is a 130mm pully and I believe... Coolant Leak / Drip, Drip, Drip, ...

I noticed a coolant leak which was collecting at the bottom of my passenger side front bumper just in front of the wheel. Looking down from the top, and taking out the window washing tank, I saw no visible signs of a leak and no wet area. Reaching around under the car, after detaching the two push button clips holding a cover to the front bumper I felt what I think is a tank next to the car horns. Drivers seat headrest... Sideways adjustment?

My headrest are sitting differently. I mean the drivers is sticking inwards horizontally. As opposed to the passenger sidethat is sitting flush to the side bolster where the seatbelt is located. Do these headrest adjust side to side horizontally?? I know they adjust up and down.... Electrically... And they are functioning fine. Just the drivers side is sitting different.. need catalytic converter for '07 CL600

passenger side catalytic converter has failed in my '07 CL600. My independent dealer tells me that Mercedes is no longer making these (part # 221-490-49-19). He said he's had bad experiences with re-manufactured converters (different flow rates from the OEM spec, resulting in error codes). Any helpful ideas for finding one appreciated. thanks

2019 E63 hood opening

A simple thing but I don't want to force it. I had a 2014 and the hood would open a full 90 degrees straight up. (also had a 2010 I believe did the same). This one doesn't want to go that far. Opens like a regular hood. Does this year 2019 open up all the way to 90 degrees? I don't remember if I had to do something to get it open all the way. Doesn't feel like it wants to go and I don't want to force it and there is nothing I can find in the owners manual.

Head Unit Modification

Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the ashtray and substitute a double-DIN sized head unit? They are making nice touchscreen units with rear-view cameras for pretty cheap these days. I know there is a brace separating the head unit from the ashtray, but I wonder if that could be moved back, or the sides simply reinforced if needed. Has anyone tried it?

I bought my car used a few years ago, a 1990 300 SL . Previous owner had replaced the factory wheels with AMG 17" alloys. The car is too low, its so easy to contact parking curbs and spoil the front lower flare out. Hey guys, so I recently visited a mechanic to troubleshoot loss of power. At the end of the service the car regained power but I found a part that was not fixed back. The engineer who was fixing the car isn't sure where the part was removed from. Can anyone help. Here are the photos of the piece.

E500 resonator delete

Hello all, I am looking to have more sound from my exhaust. Most of the dudes where I live remove either the cats/resonator/muffler I would like to know if anyone out here did such a thing. My car is E500 2003 w211 Which one do you recommend the best? and are there any disadvantages of doing it? I was about to take the resonator until someone told me that the car is going to shake and rattle. Is that right? Appreciating your help

Mercedes c230 kompressor p0302 help please!

I have a 2005 Mercedes C230 kompressor. I was driving down the freeway when I got a CEL for a code p0302. I checked my coils they seem fine so I changed my spark plugs which were long overdue. Then I noticed that my air intake wasn't hooked up all the way there was a big gap where was supposed to be connected. My question is could that be the cause of my misfire?

Breaker(Fuse) F9

Figured I would ask the village their thoughts on some wiring gremlins in my 1990 SBU. Over the past few weeks I keep losing power to F9 intermittently. It's killing everything on circuit #4 in the wiring diagrams. Interior light, shift indicator, reverse light, turn signals. I have pulled and checked all the bulkhead plugs on both sides(engine/interior) and made sure power was where it was supposed to be. Interesting YouTube links to car mechanics

Until two years ago, I had never seen a truck on the inside. Meanwhile, I bought myself a U3000 to convert it into an expedition vehicle. Unfortunately I am not far enough along with the construction so I cannot homologate the Unimog to a camper and therefore I cannot drive it yet (it is also not registered as a truck). I tried to find a thread about DIY adjust my parking brake but didn't find anything. I have a 2001 S55 with 70,000, well maintained. Ive just got my becker unit back from Warrington car radio modified to play any audio device via a RCA cable connected direct to the board with a dummy tape in the player, ive had it hooked up to my PSP watching movies through the PSP screen while playing the sound through the car's speakers, i hooked my samsung ypz5 mp3 player to it and played a compalation i put on there my self, i played my nokia N73 with a 1gb card in full of my favorite tunes through it with the headphone adapter i've... does anybody know if this is true/false; In case that ASR light comes on (in addition to limp home mode) AND the cause for it is bad brake light switch, then ASR light comes on in same moment as the brake pedal is depressed ("same moment" means literally same moment). Hi Guys, wonder if any one can help me, I have a 2008 W245 B200 Turbo, runs well, no problems but when I release the fuel cap, there is a ton a pressure (air) that blows outwards (especially on a hot day. Is there a breather system that allows air to flow outwards (expansion) and again inwards as fuel level drops. Any suggestions? or maybe just replace fuel cap.. not sure, please help, this cannot be good ..

I have lost my 772.500 transmission.

Hi, I have got 92 MB R129 300SL-24 around 6 months. I noticed that my fifth gear was humming. Last week when I drove back home it didn't change to the 5th gear. But I needed to drive back home around 100 km. I kept the engine not exceed 3000 rpm. Then the next day I drove around neighborhood, the transmission didnt shift at all. I need to go to the mechanic and he said I lost my transmission. He said it might be complicated to trace back why it didn't change to 5th gear and more parts... I have lost my 772.500 transmission.

Need help radiator hose leaked all coolant pics included

I have a 07 c230 and I pulled up at home after driving about 35 miles and maybe after it sat for about 5-10 mins I go to take off again and I notice under the hood is smoking so I pop the hood and see all my coolant leaked out . The hose was completely disconnected (as seen in pic) I went to autozone and they said I have to go to the dealership. Is there anyway to fix this? The rubber piece that helps it seal is loose. Camber cant be set after i spinned bolt in the control arm bushing.

Hi I changed the the front torque struts and control arms on my e350 some time back by myself. I didn't pay attention to the tabs in the bushing that adjusts the camber and may have put in the bolt wrong or spinned it while torquing it. Car slightly pulls to the right on freeway, which i can live with but i am worried about excessive tire wear. Wheni took it to the alignment shop, they said they can't get the camber to within spec since i broke the tabs. Question is, is there anyway to... Camber cant be set after i spinned bolt in the control arm bushing.

About ready to change oil on 2021 E350 M264 engine, after removing the under carriage panel realized that there is no drain plug for oil change. There is no oil dipstick also, anyone knows where to vacuum the oil out of this engine? Appreciate all the help, thanks.
