I was surprised to learn sometime ago that your HVAC controller - at least speaking to a worldwide audience - this one that came with the North American market - has some diagnostic modes you can evaluate I guess via through the CAN bus - Various functions. And this probably applies only to face-lifted models. For example this thing told me a few months ago that my auxiliary coolant pump for the heater was not...
