Brakes squealing after gravel road

Recently replaced all pads and rotors… Performing great, and not a hint of squeal. After spending some time on a gravel road, the brakes squeal most of the time when coming to a stop. So obviously it's the result of debris between pad and rotor. Is this likely to resolve on its own?

Oil Filter Housing leak

It looks like that housing is two pieces and there is a leak at the joint I believe. I have not seen a gasket for that. Does anyone know if one exists or is it a liquid gasket fix? A while back I replaced the seal where the filter housing bolts to the engine, seems like that repair is still good. Thanks

Sbu 2150 mystery air manifold with adjuster

Itabove the drivers step. Connects to the air seat and green parking brake like valve. Which affects the air slave on the pto tranfer and dual clutch which has been removed and two banjo air fitting at the rear which were attached to nothing. And tied to the rear swaybar links. What does this valve do if i turn it and what could these lines have gone to? The gladhands are still hooked up so not them.

Help determining original colors(sun damage)

I have had my midnight blue 87 model for a few years now and have it mostly sound mechanically. I'm moving towards cosmetics and would like to know what was the original color of my door handles, bumpers, bumper trim/guard and window trim around the rear windscreen and roof. Some parts look like they were always that color others are heavily oxidized and I can't tell what color they used to be. My dad says everything was originally black but I don't think that seems right happy to show... Help determining original colors(sun damage)

idler arm bushings genuine or lemforder

Seems thr crunching sound on my sec when turning the steering may be due to the idler arm bushes failing and not the lower ball joint. Any ideas why is would fail after 350 miles, is it now best to go for a genuine mercedes item or a lemforder item

08 ML550 -- after jump start, no navi, no backup camera

Following a transfer case repair on an ml550, we jump started vehicle as the battery had gone dead from sitting for a week. The car drove fine, but it was soon noticed that the Navi was not really working correctly. It has the map but the location is off by about a half a mile. And there are no Street by Street directions it just gives you the arrow whilst stating that you're in an area where Street by Street directions cannot be given. Renntech lowering module

I been looking at lowering modules for my s500 airmatic and theres not many. Renntech seems to be the more reliable option. it says it's plug and play but you have to add a harness under the pass side footwell. has anyone installed one of these or has one in their w220 can comment about it?

Cls 350 2006 m272 engine 7G transmission

Hello i have a weird problem when i start my car it shows no letters on the dash for the gear , and Abs light comes on , and esp malfunction and there is no shifting stuck on park i turn on the ac for like 5 minutes and the letter comes back but still abs light is on i turn off the car and start again everything comes back normal normal shifting everything go back to normal after diagnosis some mechanics said its the tcm some said its the whole transmission... Cls 350 2006 m272 engine 7G transmission

Armrests

Greetings from Australia. I have a 2001 ML270 wagon and recently the driver and rear passenger armrests have broken off. The armrests are fine it is the connectors to the door frame that have broken. Spider/octopus light works except one? Center vent 420SEL ‘87

my 87 420sel center vent lights all worked fine but of course somehow the driver side vent (in the center ) has no illumination. I understand that the center vents are all connected and have the 3 in 1 wire that connects to the spider joint behind climate control. All my fiber optic cables are connected and it's odd becuase the very center and passenger are fine however thedriver one that I circled is not lit up ..please help . I even switched the... 2007 E550 W211 RHD Airmatic Front Suspension.

G'Day from Downunder to everyone. Hi, everyone, the front of my car gets lower over a period of time and after about 4-5 Days it is down on the stops, the rear is fine. My MB Dealer replaced the front airbags a couple of years ago, when I start the car the front end comes straight up and is at the highest point after about 30 seconds, but it is annoying. I do well under 500km per year, any hints or help would be appreciated. Thank You in advance, Richard.

Need guidance with windshield washer fluid leak

Found a small puddle of blue liquid under the front left side of the car yesterday which I believe is windshield washer fluid, although I couldn't pinpoint the location of the leak. I did notice the reservoir has date code 08/2003 so no surprises if the plastic has a crack somewhere after nearly 20 years. I read about the potential for leaking washer fluid to corrode and short out the ABS module so I did some investigating with the headlight removed. Didn't see any trace of fluid on top of... Soft Top to Rear Deck wont tighten down

2009 SL65 headlight issue

My right headlight (right-when sitting in the car, left-when standing in front looking at the car) does not come on when the switch is in the Auto position. The only position it will come on is if I manually twist the switch down a few more clicks to the Regular on position. The other headlight works properly. Any ideas on what to look for to fix it? I wouldn't think it is the bulb since it lights up in the regular on position but could the issue be the switch on the dash? Thx.

Any ideas on what to look for to fix it? I wouldn't think it is the bulb since it lights up in the regular on position but could the issue be the switch on the dash? Thx.

1988 560SL rough idle bad performance Solved

After a few years of trying to resolve this rough running SL I think Finally it might be resolved. These are the steps performed to try to eliminate shaking rough running especially during start. Replaced fuel Injectors from MB qualified Mechanic. Did not resolve. Replaced Motor mounts, Sub frame and Transmission Mounts. Several thousand dollars. Did not resolve. I noticed mine was broken when the car rode like a buckboard and I noticed a dimple on the hood (where the shock broke through and hit the inside of the hood). Wanted to make a quick intro as a new member. I've been following the forum for a few months as the proud owner of a 1976 450SL. Just had a load of work done on the car with a few minor projects remaining that I plan on tackling myself. These include replacing the radio with a Continental (the original Becker is gone, sadly) and adding support to the driver seat cushion (Do pool noodles really help?). Are Service Advisor paid on commission? the reason I ask is because I went for an inspection, then less than a month later I went in for a repair.... during the inspection for the repair... the advisor found so many other repairs that needs to be done that was not found on the previous inspection done a couple of weeks before. Rebuilt automatic climate control panel & movovalve voltage

Should be a pretty quick question. I sent away for a rebuilt ACC panel (Programa, via Autohaus) and got it in and noticed the heat not working with the new one. Took a look at the monovalve voltage with my trusty Fluke and the valve seemed to be getting 0v or 12v depending on position. I noticed with the monovalve unplugged during the test, at 0v to the monovalve I'm getting lots of heat - so that seemed to indicate the new ACC panel. 2006 CLK 350 won't turn over

Hi everyone, hope someone can help me. Got a 2006 CLK 350 with only 27000 KM. today try to start no sound. Check battery and it is fine and I replaced the battery any way and still the same problem. Try to hook up the scanner and it keep saying turn on the ignition and the key is in position 2 already. Is that mean the ignition switch is bad? I own a 2005 CLK500 convertible. I have a COMAND audio system. I believe, that I have the MOST system. I do have the cd changer component in my glove box. I am trying to identify two components in my passenger side trunk wheel well. Two pictures attached. I do have audio after I disconnected the one component in my trunk, (possible the tele aid module), and connecting a bypass fiber optic loop. Really strange acceleration problem on a 1982 380sl

My Dad has a 1982 380sl. It didn't start this spring but after the battery was charged and the fuel line was bled it started fine (it was a bit rougher of an idle than normal) a day after this however the car would have acceleration problems on the second time being started. The car can drive without problems but immediately has incredibly slow acceleration when being turned on again after a drive. I'm stumped on this because it makes no sense

Externally, the MC appears to be in good shape other than some light rust and paint peeling off adjacent to the grommets where the reservoir attaches. I was considering replacing the internals, the rubber grommets where the reservoir attaches to the master cylinder, the two rubber bleeder caps on the top of the reservoir (one of which shows to be cracked below)... I have owned a 2009 E350 4matic wagon for about 4 years. Purchased with 130k miles now 157k miles. The rear end has always sunken down evenly after a week or so and now sometimes drops overnight. Always evenly and always back up with 1.5 minutes (or less). Are the bags leaking, a hose leaking or a valve? Replace everything or convert to coil springs?

C55 right primary cat replacement

Picked up a 2005 C55 with some front end damage. Car went off the road and tore up the front end but my main concern was the damage done to the right side primary cat (one off the manifold). I have a 2005 W203 C240 base model with the 2.6L gas engine I need some advice before I tear apart my fuel system. I have a fuel leak in the rear next to the fuel filter. Engine Start Problem 1983 SL380

Hello all. New to the forum and looking for advice. I recently purchased a 1983 SL380. It starts up very well from a cold start, however; when I drive it from my house to the store or dinner, it has trouble starting back up. Hey guys. I purchased a 2008 S550 about a month ago. The guy I purchased it from had something done where I can play a dvd while driving. The picture doesn't cut off when I put the car in drive. I've seen some S550s and S63s with headrest monitors. My father is trying to sell his 73 450SEL. Mint Condition, but he tried to change the Hazard Switch and when pulled up the lock came off and all the wires came off and of course sparked up from all touching. I am trying to re-connect them all back and have found a post here w/ the assumed correct set up. I keep blowing fuses and have no turn signals I cant find the proper order of the wires I think there are 6 on one side and 4 on the other. anyone have a picture of theirs or know the correct order? AMG "blue top" solenoids in the 5 speed auto

Anyone done this on the R170? I know its a long shot asking but the factory brown solenoids are replaced in the valve body with AMG "blue tops" part no A240 270 00 89. this create very firm and fast shifts yes this also means harsh downshifts too. they are non adjustable..

Loose Back Rest on lower right Drivers Side

Good Day, The lower part of my drivers side back rest has movement. When I accelerate or push on the right side of the seat, the lower part of the back rest moves. The left side with the adjustors is nice an locked into place. Below is a picture of where I am getting the movement. Any thoughts? Regards, N

I am looking for help in finding (part number) the connector that connects to the snorkel for the air filter enclosure assembly. if that cannot be found, is there an updated version that I would be able to change it with? I plan on installing euro bumpers and headlights and had a question for those who know regarding the bumpers: Why do some have the rubber end caps(albeit smaller than those on the US bumpers and some do not? I have been troubleshooting a battery drain condition and this led to the discovery that my power seat relay is always on. All of the seat functions work including the memory. I searched and found several threads about current draw on this relay with some reporting that theirs was overheating, but no real solutions. Is it normal that this relay would energize as soon as the car battery is connected to the main leads? It would seem that the power seats would not need to function until the... Power Seat Relay A

My aux fun runs all the time when the connector is on the aux fan switch - even before starting the engine on a cold start. When I got the car I discovered that the aux fan switch was disconnected. I called classic center to order one, they gave me a 006-545-14-24 - this looks totally different than what I removed and what is shown in the shop manuals. However, it does fit the screw hole and the electrical connector. Does anyone know if this is a match? It looks like the original fan... Need PN for aux fan switch
