SLK55 Stalling Problem

HELP!!! I have a 2005 SLK 55 AMG for just over a year. From the beginning, it has suffered from an intermittent stalling problem --- while I'm driving!!! It only happens at low speed (thank goodness), around 25 - 30 miles/hr. Months can go by with no problem and then all of a sudden, it will happen a few times within a week or two. 722.6 transfer case rebuild kit?

Hi folks, I just replaced my OG transfer case which failed due to using red transmission fluid after about 20K miles with a used one. FWIW there is a lot of bad information out there regarding transfer case fluids. In any case, I replaced it with this used one that had 60K miles on it, which after driving in -20*F temps two days ago, started to leak. CLK 500 Radio Issue

Recently purchased a 2005 CLK 500. Got an amazing deal on it, car is in really great shape, with no issues other than the radio and a few cosmetic blemishes. I'm having (what appears to be) a common issue within W209 CLK500s. Radio turns on, switches to CD selection and back and forth, but still no sound. When I click CDC, it says "No Magazine". Running rich?

I was looking at some live data today as I have a code indicating a kat below effiency. I wanted to check the o2 sensors and I would really appreciate some help. the front pre kat o2 sensors are both showing 0.9 v constantly, does this mean it is running very rich? I am using Carly and I am wondering if it simply doesn't show the cycling as it happens so fast? fuel economy seems a little down. I have no codes relating to mixture at all any advice / help would be appreciated

Question regarding W211 Upper Control Panel Wiring

Hi all, quick question. Trying to find an ACC wire to tap from the overhead control panel area of the car. All of the colors of the wires up there are weird. I found an 8 pin connector that goes to the rear view mirror, WIS diagram seems to show 15R (switched power) goes to pin 4 and 8 on the harness. Pin 8 is vacant in my connector and pin 4 is grey/blue stripe. Is it possible that grey/blue is a 12v ACC line? It seems like a weird color. The OCP wire diagram on WIS didn't have the colors... M103 stalling when accelerating

Hey so today i went to go drive my 300E after letting it sit overnight, i started it like normal and it started fine i let it warm up for about 5 mins and then start to drive. Rear Lift Gate won't close

So I am having an issue with my rear lift gate. It will open for most part ok, either fully or pretty close. But it won't go down at all. I can hear motor running, but nothing. I read on other forums that the auto lift gates and trunks for other Mercedes cars are pneumatic based, but I think this one is more hydraulic based. Head gaskets

Would any of you be able to measure the bore diameter of the head gasket for a 352 and 366 for me please. I think there is only 1mm difference but want to confirm. A spare gasket on my bench measures 98.46mm I think it is the one for my 352. I believe the 366 would be 99.5mm Any help would be great 👍

I am planning to update the 5 belt pulleys and figured while I was there I'd do the 83mm SC pulley. I'll also do the BWK. I'll do the split cooling and upgrade the pump. Lastly I figured I'd upgrade to Mbh headers. wanted to gather everyone's opinion on if these mods would give decent performance gains while not causing any longevity or reliability issues. thanks in advance.

1991 560SEL Intermittent Crank - No Start

I have a 1991 560SEL that has a no start condition that I am struggling with to diagnose and any advice would be appreciated. Car will start and drive (very minimal throttle response though) and then stall and will crank but not restart. This happened for about a week and now it will not start at all, just cranks over. Replaced the fuel pump relay, no change in condition. I've been a long time fan of the W211 body style and love the extra space in the E class. I got lucky with a well maintianed lower milage example, and I've fixed a few minor cosmetic and convenience issues that the original owner let go. I am fan of well cared for older cars.

I have 2011 C300 4matic and I have the staggered tire set up of 225/45/17 front and the 245/40/17 in the rear. My question is do they have to be staggered? what is the period correct radio for a R107 450SL 1979?

I am getting mixed information, some have said the Becker Europa II with cassette and some say the Becker Grand Prix 612. To get official "collector" status I need for my insurance it has to have a period correct radio (within 2-3 years) So There is some flexibility on what radio I install, so it just comes down to cost at this point.

Package tray original color

I'm reconditioning a 1998 w210 E320 sedan. Outside silver inside grey. The package tray is badly faded (see pic). Under the headrests it's kind of a charcoal color. The exposed area is a purplish grey mess. Is the original color black or some lighter shade? I see spray on automotive carpet dye in black, charcoal, and gray and want to try that. And what about those speaker grills? Should be same color? Thanks in advance.

Hello all. My car has m271evo engine. Approximately a year ago check engine light turned on. So i managed to scan the ecu and error was P001762 and P001700 (The position of the exhaust camshaft cylinder bank one is implausible relative to the position of the crankshaft. 99 SL500 leans to one side

The right side of the body is ~3/4" lower than the left. No accidents, and tire pressures are even. It has ~102k miles, and I have not noticed the "tilt" until recently. No auto-levelling. I searched the forums, but couldn't find anything useful. Any suggestions where to start?

1986 560 SL fuel pumps won't run

The entire fuel distribution system in the rear was replaced last year. The car cranks but will not start, the fuel pumps do not work when the ignition is switched on. I replaced the fuel pump relay to no avail. When cranking, the tachometer responds (I went through a crank/start/die issue three weeks ago and the issue was the tachometer sensor wire being cut or possibly chewed cleanly in half by a rascally varmint!!) Heater fan fuse on '95 S500

My heaters dash pod has screwed up and won't shut the fan off when the key is shut off and removed. Have checked both the under hood front fuse box and the rear trunk fuse box but can't seem to isolate the correct fuse to disable it. Can any of you forum gurus help me to find it please. I've temporarily pulled the battery terminal. Thank you in advance. Bryce Mack

Big no charging problem 06 E320 diesel- need expert help

Two different shops have been on this car and no one can figure out the problem Car has 330,000 miles on it and I don't think it has ever had an alternator left the lights on 30 minutes and it started up and ran fine for 30 Minutes after then red battery light, first shop thought alternator and replaced it To me acted like voltage regulator problem but they insisted it was something else was not impressed with first shop so took it to my regular shop , they replaced the alternator... Otherwise the paint is a solid 9/10 for the age. Steering wheel is stuck in the up/down position. (in/out motion works fine.) 1978 SL280 fuel pump issue

1978 MB SL280 Fuel Pump issue. First, where is it? LOL, Second, is it easy to replace? Third, where can I find the part? I have a 1978 SL280 straight 6. It was starting/running. C209 soft top, spring on end of tension cable part #?

I have been getting a wealth of information on this site, especially from Rudeney, thanks! What started as the water bag getting caught in the back window moulding, which then exposed the glue coming apart that allowed the tension cable to not allow the top to rest under the back window moulding, which turned into a discovery that the spring holding the tension cable had broken. I am looking at a pre-owned 2017 S550 Convertible/CABRIOLET fully loaded with every option (163K original MSRP). It has around 30K Miles. Is their anything special to look for or reasons to stay away from the 2017 or the Convertible/CABRIOLET S550 models in general? I've been looking for W222 or Convertible/CABRIOLET for quite some time (can't wait to switch to MB coming from BMW X7 "note: I don't mind the lesser space").

My front calipers are ATE 22 with a 57mm bore. I'm having an issue with pads advertised as a "fit" but in reality, they don't I returned another purchase today. The pad pins are 55mm apart Does anyone have correct replacements with part #'s?

Evening all. My PITA W203 C 240 has a problem with the brake lights stuck on even with fuse 62 taken out. I've recently replaced the BAS/ABS module to sort out a BAS/ABS error which seems fine now. Doing that job I disconnected the battery and it's since then the brake lights are stuck on with ignition on. I also replaced the brake light switch at that time and remembered to pull out the plunger and fit it with the pedal down. I have a good scanner and it says B1048 Stored/Current... Brake lights stuck on even without fuse - not brake switch

I have a 2004 S600 and I live by the rules, One of those is... IF a part is 50$ or less, buy it and try it. I cannot find the ABC module in the car? One diagram said near driver knee, I have radio out and NO ABC module. WHERE IS THE LOCATION OF THE ABC MODULE? I have the ABC light, visit workshop lamp on dash. Car does not feel like it goes high enough. It raises, but rides stiff. The driver rear level sensor has a higher reading than the other 3. 2004 W211 install/upgrade Navigation add in console.

I just purchased an '04 E500 in amazing condition with 150K miles on it. It's a incredible car. I wanted to add into the oem system the navigation which I don't believe was in the car when it was purchased new. I did the research to locate all of the parts needed for the upgrade and purchased and installed them. I am getting a " device unavailable" when I attempt to open the Navigation every time now. Can anyone share what I may have missed? Thank you!

Seems when it rains it pours. Just as soon as I finally got my satellite radio to work by having the SDAR module repaired in Cali, out of the blue the engine won't start. After having the SDAR fixed and running perfectly for 10 days, met up with my buddy to try and track down a parasitic drain I've had for about 6 months. Systematically pulled all fuses looking for possible drain while measuring the amps going across the terminals of the fuse holder. Known Problems to Look For In A 2005 CLK500 Cabriolet?

I have owned a CLK430 for twelve years now but I am going to check out a 2005 CLK500 Convertible today as my car is showing its age at 190,000 trouble-free miles! It has 110,000 miles and they say it has always been garaged. As I am not familiar with this model, are there any known issues that I should check for? Are there any parts that are becoming obsolete that could become a problem? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you! Mike

I need to source new front fenders for my 1990 500 SEC, chassis number WDB12604442A4454354. It's a European model and has small orange repeater lights on the fender itself. E55 Non stagger tire set up

Had to replace a rear tire due to a side wall puncture and recalled reading on the owner's manual that you could use the same size tires front and rear in a snow tire scenario. Question if anyone has tried this, no necessarily in a winter situation, but just in an attempt to be able to rotate tires and get some longer life. I do not run the car hard. Thanks!
