Evening! First off, Happy New Year! My 300E 2.6 should do 0-60 in about 9 seconds top speed of 132(mph). Around 170hp new, I think. However, the best I can get out of mine is 12.7 seconds, and about 122 mph tops. Even with age and milage, this is a bit slow for me. I believe a couple injector seals are leaking a bit. So, could they be the cause of my slight power loss? It also starts a little hard from cold. So, what do we think? Leaking injectors probable? KLink Klink sound from front brake support & rear wheel bearing Q

First off i had my front supports changed in 2017 with lemforders. Over the past few months, ive been hearing a Klink Klink sound while driving. Primarily can hear it at slow speeds. Sounded like it was in the dash. I removed the gauges and looked in there.... nothing. The i noticed it when i would get in and get out of car. Thought maybe something in my seat. Stuck in 4th , then after I stopped , it was stuck in 2nd..limped home. My cheap Autel Maxiscan OBD11 code reader gave me a P0715 , Input turbine speed sensor A circuit malfunction. I tried to erase it but I don't think it worked. The trans had always worked well before this , although sometimes the manual shift buttons would not respond . Just like most of you, by now my steering wheel is looking real naaaaasty. Unfortunately since my car has a REALLY rare interior color SA Code 215A Quartz/Siam Beige it has been impossible to find a good used replacement (MB wants $900 list, $625 my price, still expensive). The color of the wheel is called out as DOLOMITE (Color Code 8H80/8H83) in the EPC. I've been hunting ebay.com and ebay.de for a year now with no luck, only one that pops up is the 7E36 Orion Gray, the color that comes on... EGR clogged? How to remove the fuel rail?

My 95 C220 (M111) has a violent idle while in gear. I'm getting a P0400 error code which is the EGR. The EGR is buried under the fuel rail and I would like to access it to check if it's clogged. How easy is it to remove the fuel rail? I've looked for YouTube videos, but the ones I've found have the rail already removed. Is it just as simple as disconnecting the injectors from the rail and lifting it out?

Fuel Strainer Torque

Hello, Things are going well with the revival of the 84 500SEL. I am currently in the fuel system and I am looking for the torque value for the installation of the fuel strainer on the bottom of the tank (A 201 470 05 06). The fuel strainer base looks to be made of high-grade aluminum and is likely soft, so striping the threads might be easy. Thanks.

Hi all, 2011 ML 350 here, this car is new to me. Today I had a large number of things to transport in the trunk, so I wanted to lower my rear seats. The passenger side worked fine, I pulled on the strap to pull the seat cushion forward, pulled the lever up on the backrest and the seat folded down perfectly. Went the driver's side and pulled up the cushion, but then went I went to pull the lever to lower the backrest, it only comes forward about 2 or 3 inches; seems to be catching on... Driver Side Condensation not clearing on CLS Shooting Brake

Hi, Hoping someone can help. I have a CLS Shooting Brake and having trouble with my front windscreen where there is a pocket of condensation that does not clear whether I put the full heaters on or even if I use the max button for the front fans to come on to hopefully clear the condensation. Any ideas what this could be? I think there must be a blockage somewhere but not sure how to deal with this issue. I attach a photo of this issue. thanks

I have had on and off BAS / ABS light and central locking gremlins for several years. It was partially solved when I replaced the broken cable terminal ends in Apr 2020. Battery has 12.7 volts at rest, after being off over night, and charges at 13.7 / 13.9 volts when running, using g a multimeter. I applied a 7.5v solar powered trickle charger Christmas gift to the circuit, this afternoon. When I left for work, 3 hours later, I had no BAS / ABS lights, and central locking worked at 5 mph... What makes this hose jump?

Aux water pump hose, running to water pump, 'jumps' every 4 seconds, or so. Has done this for several years. Never having had a car with an aux water pump, before, I want to believe this may be abnormal. I changed water pump in 2020 with a Sachs from FCPEURO, noted the jump, but, it wasn't worrisome, then. It is weighing on my mind, having just replaced the upper radiator hose, 12/29/22, and I would like to prevent a future breakage of the hose/s, or somesuch.

W639 ABS and Driving control light on

Hi all, My 2006 w639 rear wheel drive Vito has both the ABS and the light that looks like a wheel with arrows on. If I am parked level the lights are on from start up, if I am parked facing down a slope the lights are off on start up but come on as soon as I move. Is it a wheel sensor? How do I test them? Had a look at one but it was stuck fast, any tips on removal? James

I'm having a dickens of a time trying to find out if the Flywheel on the '85 is different from previous years. The '85 has the Tach sensor located in the Bell Housing and picks up the signal from the Flywheel and delivers the signal to the 'computer' behind the kick-panel (electronic signal, no Tach Amp) In Previous years the signal is picked up at the Harmonic Balancer and delivered to the Tach Amp on the driver's side Wheel well. GLK250 transmission

I have a 2013 GLK250 which I shorten all the fluid change intervals, hopefully to help it last. I change the transmission fluid every 50,000 kms (currently there is 240,000 km). My question is, does the trans and transfer case share the same blue fluid???

Over the last year i have tried tuning my slk230 1998 Firstly I used the bolt on crank pulley (diameter 218 mm) with colder plugs and 4.5 br fuel pressure regulator. I used DRAGY for performance evaluation. A standard car seems to do 0 to 60 mph in 6.9 seconds. Phone apps were widely inaccurate giving times from 4.9 to 7.9 seconds. I should say I have been a drag racer for over 40 years so i am fairly good at getting off the line for acceleration tests. All times, are of course subjective... TUNING THE PRE FACELIFT 230 K

Just sitting here browsing, windy and p*****ing down outside, noticed this video that may be of interest, I know nobby and other have rebuilt their seats but the SL shop (I have no connection with them) have manufactured a sprung replacement base.. not cheap but interesting video.. they also make a foam base to replace the horsehair one just skip the adds….

I need your help, I have a 2000 Mercedes ML270 CDI W163 diesel with the message in the dashboard "start error" I've bought ECU+EAM(Das)+coil ring+key set from other car - Message "start error" gone, but starter doesn't crank. I connect directly contacts 30 and 87 at relay k8 it cranks and holds for 1sec and then just idle crank. The other problem is I don't have code scanner.

Outside temperature not displaying on instrument panel

W220 s600 .Transmission issues

Ok Everyone I need. I Need someone that knows about trans missions. I own 03 S600 I got the car several months ago, but the transmission felt slugish. Lete explain I put the car in gear and I felt like a hesitation. I would give it gas to go but it would feel as if the emergency brake was on half way. It would gradually start to move. Door panel mounts

Hello! So I recently obtained all 4 door panels in mint condition. I took them out of guys attic, which was very dark, so I inspected the door panels only at 40%. The main side, which u see is mint, like I said, but the side, which goes against the door... It is missing 90% of the plastic mounts, where u slide in the plastic pistons. Circled in red, that is what I am missing on basically all panels. Has anyone got an idea where could I... Door panel mounts

190E Coolant loss

So i have a 190E 1.8 and i have noticed some drops of coolant from the pressure relief hose (in the area of the black circle) I am talking literally like drops of it 2-3 at the most. What could be causing this? Bad radiator cap? Something else? The car has had its head gasket done 1.5 years ago so i don't think it's from that. Temperature is OK and fan clutch is working fine.

Collision damage - Hood doesn't open - Opinions?

Last week the wife rear-ended somebody in city traffic (a recent C-class). No injuries, fortunately, but the front of my E320 doesn't look as pretty as it used to. The car has almost 270k miles on it and was/is in good mechanical shape. I maintained it pretty well over the years, but luckily I made no major repairs/investments very recently (apart from new battery & tires one year ago). Now, there is damage to the hood, the hood support, the left fender, the headlight trim and support, and... Collision damage - Hood doesn't open - Opinions?

Transmission Cold Low Speed Hard Up & Down Shifting, Normal Or Not ?

I have a 2005 ckk 500 I bought with 103k miles. My problem was when shifted to reverse it would take a second or to to engage and acted very strange when I tried the manual shifting. I did a transmission service installing an "upgraded pan" I put the white filler standoff as it seemed to be the same height as the old pan, green stand off was shorter. Anyway after the service seemed to shift better but now its turned cold and shifting down shifting and up shifting a little hard until warmed... 2017 GLC300 MBRACE question

My MBRACE subscription has expired and I am not interested in renewing it. The problem with that is every time I start the car I get a message that pops up and reads "SOS service not activated". I just had the vehicle in for a B service and the service advisor told me there is no way for them to get rid of that message. Of course you can do it manually by pushing the OK button but it is annoying to have to do that every time you start the car. Does anyone know of any method to get rid of that?

I was installing the CD changer on my 2000 ML and dropped a screw down in the side cover. While looking for the screw to place my magnet in I noticed the passenger side rear drain nipple had come out of the hole in the rear fender well. I found out how to remove the rear side cover on the passenger side . That way I can get inside and reattach the nipple to the fender frame . I don't know if the nipple was already out or my big hand knocked the nipple out of place. Anywho I half to get the... Sunroof drains for the rear

Calling on some of the folks with electrical experience to help with this one. A while back a took apart the interior of a 2001 SLK 320 (R170). It had to be redone due to some a very sad spray paint job that was done to the interior. After putting it back together, I find my-self with an electrical plug that I cannot find where to connect. The plug is bundled with the radio harness, and it has three wires (blue/blk, blk, & brwn). I have been looking for a home for this connector for... ******* Mystery Plug *****

406 Heater ducting

I'm putting the heater back in after having the entire cooling system apart, cleaned and repaired. I'm putting the plastic duct pieces back in, and I think I'm missing a short piece of flexible ducting to connect the Y splitter that goes into the top of the heater box and the defrost duct... Does anyone have a good diagram, maybe even part numbers? I'm guessing I'll have to find some sort of alternative.... -mike

Where does the dip stick tube go?

Changed the oil in the GLS450 for the first time myself today. (It was on dealer maintenance until last month.) When I stuck the suction tube down into the dipstick tube, and hit something, I stopped, pulled it up about 1/4" as I always do, and started pumping. When it sucked air, I only had 2 or 3 quarts. So, I pushed it past the "bottom" and kept going, until I ran out of tubing. Never hit "bottom" again! Pumped some more, and maybe got another quart or two. So, I started pulling it... Where does the dip stick tube go?

got my 87 560SL serviced with a valve job last September where new valve seals, guides were put in plus the valves shims and everything properly adjusted. Where to find Cold Start Valve Replacement

Hey all! I have a 1991 R129 500SL (DOHC 5.0, M119) and I am in need of a cold start valve. Mine is seized and won't spray at all, however I am having trouble finding where to get a brand new one and not a used one. Grease Leak 2010 GL 550

Got home from work and found this under my wife's car. Jacked the car up and did not see any thing leaking still. Took front tires off and inspected and still did not see anything. How long do lift gate struts typically last?

My 2008 ML 320 CDI has the Power Lift option on the lift gate. The lift gate struts are original. Have no issues with opening or closing. I just do not want to wear out the power lift hydraulics if the struts are weak.

SO..... I planned to replace the Pulsation Damper today as it is a beautiful warm winter day.. I know the damper is bad as I can hear fluid sloshing around when you move it around. I am following the manual and for the life of me is cannot get that thing loose. Anyone have any pointers or hacks. I even tried heating the manifold it is attached to.

Lubricant for door strap/restraint ("retainer")

As long as I have owned Mercedes vehicles, I have been perplexed about what lube works best for the metal door restraint strap. Use of the "wrong" lubricant seems to lead to ghostly sounds and 'stepped-on-the-cat's-tail-like' complaints from this region. What do others use to lube the "retainer", as it is referred to in my W123 workshop manual. That manual recommends "SHELL RETINAX G", whatever that is - something out of the Peter Sellers, Dr. Strangelove movie perhaps? Has anyone actually... Lubricant for door strap/restraint ("retainer")

FOB for 1999 E320

I somehow managed to lose my FOB for my 1999 e320 sedan. The inside skeleton key is still on my key ring which gets me in the car, but doesn't start the car. Is there a relatively inexpensive way to get a new FOB? Amazon has a bunch of replacements, but never sure if it's going to be the right one or whether it would even be programable...plz help!

Replacing brake light switch on 2006 C230

I am attempting to replace to replace the brake light switch on a 06 C230. I removed the cover under the dash but now I'm seeing a plastic panel over the brake pedal. I'm assuming the brake light switch is under the plastic panel. Does anyone have any advise on how to remove the plastic panel? I done see any screws and not sure where to start. I'm attaching a photo.

Gen II 86 560SEC Audio & Speaker Upgrade

I read a bunch of forum posts on here trying to figure out my speaker size in my car and how to upgrade everything. I didn't see any videos about it though, so I made one to show all the stock speaker sizes, how I tore everything out, routed new wires, and upgraded the sound system. Becker BE 612 Replacement

Good morning, I am replacing the Becker BE 612 with a RetroSound Grand Prix M4HD. I have attached pictures of the Becker before I removed the wiring and a stock photo of the back of the RetroSound. I have a Metra wiring harness adapter so no wires need to be cut. I do, however, have two questions. 1. What do I do with the two brown wires attached to the bolt in the middle of the Becker (circled in the picture)? 2. How do I go from the rolled clip on spade terminal (circled in the... " 1999 ML430 W163" 9.5 qts (Mobil-1 0w-40) 1 Fleece Oil Filter (w/seal ring kit) Vacuum pump Shop rags Needle nose pliers Beer of your choice (optional for your consumption, at your own risk, NOT FOR ENGINE!!) Before you begin, please let your ML run on idle for at least 10 minutes. This will help the oil flow faster to the vacuum pump. SHUT OFF ENGINE after 10 min. Steps: 1. Remove Oil Filter Cap 2.
