94 E320 with 255,000 miles - any life left?

I'm looking for an older Mercedes and I found a 1994 E320 for sale with 255,000 miles and I'm wondering if it is even worth looking at. It seems pretty high. How many miles do these cars typically go? How much is it worth?

Hi Fellow Benz'ers - I have a 2004 SL600 that appears to be missing one of the panels underneath? and I guess one is slightly torn? Hi all I needed to replace the biodegradable wiring on the inside of my headlight assembly - both sides - major cracking and lots of exposed copper wire - and one city light socket that just disintegrated. I have a wagon with the self leveling system so the reservoir sits behind the drivers headlight and makes it almost impossible to get to anything. 2008 SL55 AMG

Selling my 2008 Mercedes SL55 AMG. It has been extremely well maintained its entire life and as a result, it's in pristine condition. Lots of maintenance records - it has no issues and all of the common problems have been taken care of. It is currently at 113,000 miles which were mainly freeway miles. The car was used for commuting to Los Angeles from San Diego. Brake line failure/rusting

Has anybody had an issue or know if an issue with the rear brake line rusting on a 2014 C300? I have to replace my rear subframe but my been told my brake line looks good. Should I put in the extra cost to replace it so that I don't have a problem with it in the future? Or should I have the mechanic spray it with rust resistant coating (whatever that stuff is called) to prevent rusting? Thanks for your advice, Laurie

Warmup regulator fuel lines

I am in a multi year restoration of a 1979 450 slc. I have rebuilt the WUR but in removing one of the fuel lines, the smallest one, I twisted the line OFF! I lost about 1 inch of the line where it exits the WUR. Repair, replace?? I wonder if replacing the original steel line with the flexible lines with banjo fitting ends found on later models is a good option? I have not found a used fuel line yet.

Newest problem… Not Firing

Hi all. I finally resolved my starter problem and my field find 380 is turning over nicely! I have put fresh oil and filter, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, ignition control module in place. Pulled the valve covers and the chain is in great shape and the oilers are good on the cams. I think it's gonna live! After all that, she won't start. I know I have fuel pressure. The coil is definitely firing, but not the plugs. With a new cap and rotor and wires I'm kind of surprised. Plugs are gapped... Newest problem… Not Firing

2006 W211 Mercedes E200 Kompressor ignition module failing

This is sadly a very common problem in this vehicle and I am having all sorts of issues trying to get it repaired/replaced before it sticks me up somewhere! MB in Brisbane advice it will cost some $1,600 for the module if they can even get one, that being unlikely plus some $500 in labour. The bigger problem is that I may be faced with new key(s) and having them reprogrammed that being abother $1,000+ ............geez! Here is the radiator bracket rod thing and all of the hardware for it: Everything is made of steel and everything was rusty. I took the nuts, rod, and one of the spacers to the wire wheel. Obviously that cleans up the rust without problem but now it is bare metal. Also, on the left are bolts for the skid plate... Rusty bolts and what-nots

Recently, I began to notice problems in the transmission, such as delayed shifting and a strong jolt when shifting from N to R. What should I do? Air filter service indicator

My filter service indicator was showing signs of crazing on the transparent section - in trying to unscrew it, it broke - which was not a surprise given the crazing. I have checked Donaldson and they only make units with imperial/US threads - this unit is 10mmx1.5. It looks like it may well be a MANN+HUMMEL part, but, the lable has long since gone. MANN is normally good on specifications of their parts, but not with these units - no mention of thread sizes. Does anybody with an SBU still... Air filter service indicator

How to fix album cover that got stuck on MBUX?

Ok, I have quite an annoying, yet totally not important problem. After a friend of me connected his phone to the MBUX system to use the audio, the album cover of his last played song got stuck on the screen. So now, whatever song I play from my phone his album cover is shown as the album cover. So you guess the question: how do I fix this haha? I can't reset the MBUX because I had ambient lighting build in by a car tuner. So resetting would delete the ambient light app. Any suggestions... How to fix album cover that got stuck on MBUX?

I have an opportunity to buy a 1982 380 SL with 67,000 miles on it. The car has not been running in 3 years and the interior is a complete mess. The seats are ripped apart and were soaked with water along with the carpeting . The body is all original along with the rims. Right now i can get it for $2,000.00 and i think there is room for a further reduction. Should i buy the car? I ran the VIN and the mileage is legit.

Battery red light/aux

I got the red battery/visit workshop light coming on occasionally. I know the main battery is about 2 years old. I just took a look at the aux and I'm wondering if the "04 09" stamped is the date. I'm going to take it to have it checked, but vehicle off it's just putting out 12v. If that's the date I would guess that's likely the problem.

The codes appear where the clock would be, and they flash. There are a few different codes, which alternate.

The codes are:

LA:08
LA:24
LA:02

And some others.

Everything on the van seems to work, no limp mode or apparent electrical failures, and these codes go away again after a few minutes of driving and the clock will reappear.

s350 tensioner gone bad

So I went under the hood and heard a metal rattling sound when idle. Yikes! @#%&# At first I was convinced it had to be a broken part in the head somewhere, but after careful examination with a torch I saw the tensioner rattling like it's somewhat loose in there. A little relieved I gotta say that it's 'just' the tensioner. So I'm seeing a lot of options from a Ridex for 35 bucks to a Febi for 75, Meyle 95 to a Dayco(???) for 333!! Any suggestions? Hope everyone is doing well. I had an issue this past weekend. Sunday morning, she started right up as normal. Drove till it was warm at working temp, pulled into my normal Chevron, and got 12 gallons of Non-E 90. Had to drive 30 miles or so to pick up a few things, went inside for 30 min, came back out and the car took about 10 seconds to start and it was a rough start. '95 S500 with 96K. Every time I start the car and drive off, the SRS light comes on, then goes off anywhere from 1 minute to 2 minutes afterwards; it ALWAYS does that, although if I "jiggle" the seat belt connection a lot, it will sometimes go off in several seconds. What do I need to do? James

My car's steering wheel was removed and sent to apsisusa dot com for zebrano wood/leather retrofit. I will get it back in 4 weeks. I'll take pictures once I have it installed. Question: 1. I have a 2000 E320 4matic wagon since new (160K mi) -- great vehicle! But I have had ABS/BAS/ESP lights on the dash for a year. Vehicle has been drivable with those systems disabled. However a few weeks ago I noticed the transmission slipping slightly one day, a check engine light came on, then a few days later the vehicle went into limp mode. Where can I purchase this 2003 c230k coupe vacuum hose? [pic included]

My 2003 c230 Kompressor Coupe 1.8 liter has a vacuum leak, code p0171. In another thread others talk about how it's very unlikely to be the MAF and that it was common for this hose on route 5 to be the issue where I have marked it. I figure I'll detach the MAF and clean it and replace this hose #5 to begin trouble-shooting. Thanks for any pointers on how to locate these types of hoses and how to identify them for... My SL550 is being a bit needy lately...

So it started about two months ago when I broke a taillight. I was grabbing a lawn tool from the corner of the garage where I keep them, next to where the car is parked. Another tool fell and slammed into the taillight and cracked it. I guess i was luck that it wasn't the fender or trunk lid! So $300 later and I have a new taillight. Some road debris knocked out the left front fog light, so I bought a cheap aftermarket pair on Amazon (the right one was getting a bit crusty looking... My SL550 is being a bit needy lately...

I'm the owner of a 2000 Mercedes Benz E320 wagon base model (w210) and I have been for a while now in the mist of buying all parts to fit in the comand 2.0 Bosch system these cars had but have seen some differences in the systems themselves as some have a button on them that says "TV" at the top of the display screen and some that have nothing there at all with just a blank button. Second new to me '95 S500!

After driving my original S500 for about a year and a half now I had a rare treat. I was sitting in my car having lunch at work and a fellow drove up beside me in a Volvo wearing a mechanic coveralls and said that his shop had a car " just like mine " the owner might want to sell. I knew the shop and the owner, phoned him and arranged a viewing. Bottom line is I just brought home a REALLY nice '95 S500 on dk charcoal metalic with a black and dark grey leather interior. Drove it home, good... Second new to me '95 S500!

Missing aux fans?

This may sound a bit dumb but after having a chat with another W210 owner it came to my attention that our cars are supposed to have aux fans. My 99 E320 estate however does not. It has the electric cooling fan behind the radiator but nothing in front of the condenser. The other person has a facelift E320 so I'm not sure if they were a face-lift specific item or if someone deliberately chucked them from the car.

Fixing a short circuit in the instrument cluster - need some help?

Hello, a while ago my air pressure gauge in the instrument cluster was leaking and I tried to replace it. the result is, I have a working air pressure gauge now, but have introduced an electric gremlin somewhere. When I plug in the connector after a few minutes I have smoke coming out of the cluster. does anyone has an exploded view of the instrument cluster? Just trying to get my head around what I am dealing with at this stage? cheers Andre
