So, this is going to be a very simple dumb generic question. How does one keep non-stainless bolts and hardware from rusting?
Case in point. Here is the radiator bracket rod thing and all of the hardware for it:

Everything is made of steel and everything was rusty. I took the nuts, rod, and one of the spacers to the wire wheel. Obviously that cleans up the rust without problem but now it is bare metal.
Also, on the left are bolts for the skid plate...
