Please help! Soft top issues looking for advice for new owner.

Hi everyone! I have read a lot of various posts on the soft top issues for the R129 and I current are having an issue I need some advice. Especially if Klaus @top hydraulics can provide his advice that would be most appreciated! Recently, I was told by a local shop that I need to replace the soft top metal linkage guide on both sides (129-780-3541/61 the metal linkage that extend and collapse the whole soft top very heavy and big parts) [ATTACH type="full"... nice looking 380SL in Boise today

I was driving in to work this afternoon from Star to Eagle Road and saw a nice looking 380SL on Chinden Road. He was East bound, as was I. Don't know if he is on the board here, but if he is, the car needs new exhaust mount rubbers! Rear muffler was all over the place on little bumps. I like the color, the very light green/silver of the era. I was in the white GL350, behind you for about two miles.

Sunroof is crooked

Driver Side Door Seal

I recently purchased a new driver side door seal for my 2002 Mercedes Benz C320 as there old one was damaged and needed replacement. The new door seal came with 4 colored plastic strips with clips but no instructions on where or how to place and I cannot seem to find any instructions online. Would anyone know or have an illustration or video available? Thanks

AC Still Crazy after all these Days

please note that I'm a beginner! I need one step at a time instructions lol! AC system converted a few months ago. Almost all AC system is new: compressor, rec drier, belts, hoses, aluminum hose pressure checked, aux fan is new, switches and servos to the gates/doors working. Condenser is not new but was told operable. Compressor unmistakingly comes on/off when asked. If the temp outside is cool, I get cool AC air. The warmer is gets ouside, the less cool the AC. Then, it was 100 last week... AC Still Crazy after all these Days

Fuel Injectors

Hello- Today I replaced the fuel injectors in my 82 380SL project car. Thought it might help my low power issues. Got all of the injectors changed but one. Sadly, I stripped the clip bolt on the last one and could not get it out with a backout bit. Pretty sure I'll need pro help to get that out. My question is this; We put it all back together and it runs worse now than before. Like it's missing, not running on all cylinders. Could the one old injector be causing this? Any advice is... 2005 C230 fuse diagrams

R230 noise at idle or otherwise

2004 R230 has a whine coming from the engine bay. Louder when you get under the car at rear of motor/bellhousing. I have taken off the belt and made no difference. Is it possible this is the sticky starter / ring gear issue? I just serviced the transmission and that made no difference. The noise is almost identical to a bad pulley but I have eliminated those as the issue with the belt removal. As a note the car has the strut conversion from strutmasters and a bypass PS pump. not my choice I... R230 noise at idle or otherwise

Change Service Interval Reminder

Hi Everyone, I've tried a couple google searches and forum searches to find out how to change the Service Interval Reminder setting. The only thing that I'm finding is how to reset the Service Interval Reminder after an oil change. Right now the Service Interval Reminder is set to around 9000 miles and a little over 700 days. I change my oil every 5000 miles or 180 days so I would like to reminder to be set to match that. Is changing the Service Interval Reminder possible? Thanks!

My Check Eng light came on this morning, temp 10 deg C (50F), scanned and got P064C. Seems it is difficult to source one of the OEM. Question is: Car starts fine, Glow light turns OF normally after engine start, should I worry about this ?

@Deplore , @mersum1es This vehicle got towed in from a small MB dealer in Louisiana. Some 400 miles away. Stalled on the highway. Little used 2000 clk430 with 99000 miles. Front wheel wobble over 30-40 mph, hard pull to the left at all speeds. Local repair shop did the alignment only and said that the car will need a "front end", about $1500. No idea what that means. Which parts of the suspension are usually replaced at 100k? Would love to know common causes and progressive fix strategy. Would one of you wise men point me toward an instructional or previous thread? Have searched and come up empty. Any alternate way of opening the glovebox, if handle is nonfunctional?

I was trying to fix the loose pin on one of the hinges on the damn thing and actually fixed it but didn't properly set the handle before closing it, now the glovebox is locked shut and the handle is useless. Do I have to pry it open or is there another way?

Does anyone have a definitive answer on how to know for certain if my car came equipped with Apple CarPlay? I have a 2017 E300. I went to the dealership and asked them to activate it. They said it was not installed on my car although it comes up on the menu. I went to a local German automobile shop and they claim it is installed. Normal engine temp gauge reading?

I think my engine temperature gauge is now at a different position when the engine is hot then where it had been for the last three years. I thought it used to hang out just below the gauge mid point (around 70 C). But now when hot it moves to 90 C. No where near the red zone but I want to be preemptive if a problem is brewing. This is local or interstate driving. Can anyone share their normal warm engine temp reading? Thanks!

If someone hasn't already got them, it appears to have the AMG Monoblock I wheels on it and I can get those for about $40 a wheel - which seems worthwhile. It also has a beige interior that matches my car, so going to be looking for trim parts and the center air vent... So I thought I would ask as a new owner, are there any pieces that I should... Power Antenna Converter Anyone Have it Yet?

For a while now I have been having small issues with my power antenna. Replaced the gears and fixed the problem but the last few times I get a clicking sound when the antenna gets to the fully up or fully down position. Hi all i have a Viano W639 2009 UK Spec After I switch heating to high i get no hot air from the blowers after a global scan with diagnostics I get a short error on water valve relay I have tried looking on WIS for this relay to test it but i cant seem to find it. In the wire diagram its relay Y19/2k1. Could any one help and point me in the right direction to locate this relay Thanks Steve

This set was refinished last summer (7/21) and is in very good condition. They do not need refinishing. There is a small chip in 1 wheel but that is it. 18x8 et31 18x9 et35 my price is $2000 and this is firm. These are getting hard to find and really going up in price. Fuel filter stopcock adjustment (leaking)

I just did a fuel filter change with a Mann brand filter, i replaced the O rings as well however i dont know how adjusted the stopcock is supposed to be. It leaks diesel as well. I eventually got tightened to where it doesn't leak and still keeps the engine running smooth, is this how its supposed to be? Video for reference Fuel filter leak ?

Right. It took me a while to figure out how the setup works. I initially thought that the spring plate hit the discs, but what actually happens is the spring plate is already up against the K1 clutch and the piston works against the springs in order to press on the discs. So, a harder spring means reverse engages more softly that if it were to have lighter springs. The discs engaging hard will prevent wear because otherwise they would slip for a brief moment before engaging. By only using... So, a harder spring means reverse engages more softly that if it were to have lighter springs.

I have replace my Bose 109638 1 ohm speaker with a bose factory unit which is NLA. I did find a 2 ohm speaker made by Audison (Prima AP6.5 OHM2). The speaker set was $220 us and was supplied from Woofersetc.com through EBAY. The only deviation required for installation is switching the terminal ends. The positive on the Bose is the smaller connector whereas the positive on the Audison is the larger connector. I cut the old one offs and put on new ends. So far they sound great and... Gearbox rubber mount

Hi to all MB and especially CLK enthusiasts! Today I replaced the gb rubber mounting on my 2006 CLK 200K as I suspected some vibrations to be originated from this part. ( I also intent to replace the engine mounts, but they are out of stock for the next couple of weeks). Anyhow, to come back to the gb mount, the old one did not show any evident wear marks, was not broken in anyway, but I can tell you the improvement on the car ride smoothness is enormous! I have an 1987 560SL and it runs very smooth as long as I am smooth on the accelerator. If I punch it it becomes very rough and misfires. I drive it every day like a little old lady and it gives me no problems. Any Advice?

Rev Limiter Accelerator giving in cLK 430?? Help

For the last couple weeks I have been running into a huge problem. When pressing down on the accelerator real hard my car doesn't move and the accelerator gives in. By "give in" I mean I step on the accelerator and the car wont move. It will only move if I hold down on the accelerator and even then it will only increase my speed little by little. when I turn the car off and on everything goes back to normal. W124 200e OVP removal

I am trying to remove the OVP relay but it seems to be stuck. I have seen a few videos where it is held in place with a bolt but mine does not have that. It slides into place in a plastic housing. The metal part of the really seems to be jammed in the housing on the left side. Anyone know how to remove this. I am scared to force it and break the plastic. P0123 limp mode

Just purchased a 2002 CLK 430 convertible. Runs fine until I floor it(WOT). Scan tool indicates code P0123. I preform the reset procedure for the accelerator pedal sensor, or the TPS as some call it, and it runs fine again until I go pedal to the medal. It appears I have the Hall effect sensor. Is there another sensor on the gas pedal itself I should be looking at? I am planning to test the TPS by back probing the connector for voltage. I think there is a 5V reference voltage and a not... As the title says, I just put my hands on a nice 93 220E with only 133,000 on the odo (about 82,500 miles) for what i think is a good price after a lot of negociation. The interior is like new, everything works, it was garage kept so every door seals are like new and it drives like a new car. The bad part is that is has some paint bubbles due to rust at the front wheel arches where dirt accumulates because it comes from belgium where they tend to use a lot more road salt. Fuel gauge doesn't go below half

Hi all, new to me 1977 300d RHD has an issue where the fuel gauge won't go below about halfway (I found this it the difficult way, luckily I was only 25km from home. Fill up the tank above that level and the gauge is correct. Is this likely a sender issue or possibly an issue with the gauge? All other gauges work fine. Thanks, Matthew

I left my key in the ignition for about 5hrs. The car wasn't running, but it was on. Of course, the battery died. What's worrying me is I wasn't able to jump it. Will charging it help if it won't jump start? I think my only charging option is under the passenger seat, and I currently can't move the passenger seat because of the dead battery….any ideas?

How often do you guys check/replace your supercharger belt?

I've switched to changing mine by time rather than km's driven. The factory calls for 4-5 years with 60,000kms but that's for a stock car with stock boost levels. I'm now changing my belt every two years regardless of mileage as the car gets driven "spiritedly" with high RPM and does fair few track days. What's also interesting is some factory supercharged cars like the lotus elise as part of their schedule get changed every 2 years too - this makes sure the supercharger is always at its... 2008 s550 front drive/propeller shaft replacement

Greetings, While under my 2008 S550 looking for an oil leak, I put my hand on my front drive shaft and noticed lateral movement. Looking at the bottom plastic cover I noticed a bunch of needle bearings, all piled up under where the front ujoint is - my ujoint on my front drive shaft is broke. Fortunately I caught it before it had a chance to break loose and chew/bend things up. Now I'm faced with a front drive shaft replacement. Dear All, I sent in my E200 2.0L W213FL 2021 for first 1k oil change yesterday. They handed back the car to me after 2 hours. An error popped out on the dashboard when I started the car. It showed "48V Battery" and requested me to check the owner's manual. I called the service advisor again and he handed my car back to the service technician. They plugged in Xentry and ran diagnostics again but could not find any physical hardware failure and claimed that my car's software version was 2020... I want to replace my standard 17" wheels on my 2009, I called a few places and they said their wheel would not fit a c300 sport. I'm an old school guy and understand backspacing but really don't understand offsets and staggers I know the the car has different size tires and rims front to rear . Can someone school me .................. I did find these that I like and it lists they fit ..........thoughts... Wheel Selection

The engine gets a little hot, going to about 100 if car is stationed on a hot day, normally operates at around 87. I replaced the thermostat. The big fan, marked with yellow arrow, keeps spinning continuously. Are the other fans, marked with red arrows, supposed to spin up when things get hot? They turn on when the AC runs.

2015 GLK350 Spark Plug Change for DIY

While my new-to-me '15 GLK350 only had 55k, one owner miles by the time I drove it home from Phoenix I wanted to do some preventative maintenance along with the B2 notice so perhaps I could do another 60k with little or no ongoing items. On my '02 E430 the horn doesn't work. When I push on the horn, it does something else. The central display on the instrument panel cycles through all the different functions as I repeatedly push the horn. Amazing! Hello, I have a unknown year Mercedes Unimog, the plaque under the hood reads 406.120 - 10 - 020600 Unimog 406 And 3 numbers slots for kg. weight Daimler - Benz AG GAGGENAU at the top. I am assuming the AG means agriculture. It is all written in German. There is also plaque and ceiling of the cab reading MFD in Canada.. not for occupancy and has a serial number that does not register in the Mercedes vin decoder. How do I know what year my unimog is?
