Rev Limiter Accelerator giving in cLK 430?? Help

For the last couple weeks I have been running into a huge problem. When pressing down on the accelerator real hard my car doesn't move and the accelerator gives in. By "give in" I mean I step on the accelerator and the car wont move. It will only move if I hold down on the accelerator and even then it will only increase my speed little by little. when I turn the car off and on everything goes back to normal. Would the rev limiter cause this to happen or can I be running into other problems... Rev Limiter Accelerator giving in cLK 430?? Help
