Apple Carplay Installed?

Does anyone have a definitive answer on how to know for certain if my car came equipped with Apple CarPlay? I have a 2017 E300. I went to the dealership and asked them to activate it. They said it was not installed on my car although it comes up on the menu. I went to a local German automobile shop and they claim it is installed.
