Help understanding my air system

Hello, I am trying to get my head around the air system on my truck. (U1300L ex-NZ army). none of the diagrams in the workshop manual match what I have and I believe previous owners might have modified/removed things. those seem to be the closest match to mine but I have an additional air tank between compressor and unloader valve and another... Command comes on but no sound

We have a 2013 E350 sedan. The unit looks like it's working right but there is no sound. We have reset the command system and it has worked other times we try to reset and it doesn't work. Sometimes when we turn the car on it works other times it doesn't. Any suggestions on where to look?

How to navigate to tire pressures 2009 e320

I am trying to figure out how to read my tire pressures. I have found several posts and YouTubes on how to do this but they all involve using a right, left arrow key and or an OK button. My car has neither. I have an up, down set of keys, 2 menu looking keys and + - keys. I run in circles and can't find any service menu or anything other than resetting the tire pressure system. I want to navigate to tire pressures so I can see what the system thinks the pressures are? Thanks, Bruce

Hello, new to this forum so this will be my first post here. Hoping for some professional help on a big issue we have on our latest build. We are swapping Engine Transmission IRS, IFS, ABS, ABC out of a CL600 2002, etc into a very beautyfull old 1965 cuope. All componets came from a donor car we bought from germany, So its like a modern car in old body. The only big issue we have right now, is to get the ABC suspension to work properly. Hey all, I have a 92 500SEL I have been resurrecting from neglect. The shifting has always been a little choppy and not super smooth. I know these 722.3 transmissions are finicky, but I do think mine MAY have been rebuilt at some point. The shifts are strong with no slipping, and it goes into reverse perfectly. ANYWAYS The main issue is that during WOT, however, the transmission skips second gear and goes into 3rd from 1st, which obviously kills a lot of my forward momentum. M272 timing cover replacement

Long story short while replacing the water pump I missed a bolt and tore a chunk out of the front timing cover after beating myself up for a week. I figured out that I could order a new timing cover, however, is this repairable and/or replaceable while the motor is still in the GLK or am I basically looking at a engine removal and might as well do the balance shaft while I'm in there? Hi, I am looking at mounting a winch to the rear of my U1300L. Here in Australia there are a few options available for the ex-ADF U1700L's. My rear cross member looks very similar but I've been unable to confirm the dimension differences. 1972 250c power windows not working

Seems as if I'm having the same power window issue as many other w114s. They stopped working last year but at that time it was just the fuses. They stopped working again recently and replacing all new fuses didn't fix the issue. All the motors seem to work fine so I'm assuming it's a relay issue. For the time being until I find replacement relays, what would be the best way to get the windows down manually for the summer? Can I open up the interior door panel and bring them down from inside?

Picked up a vintage MB and im confused on the chassis

Hello everyone i recently picked up a 1975 MB 300d. Im very confused with everything im reading. From what ive read the w115 and w114 chassis only came with 4cyl and 6 cyl motors but mine has a 5cyl diesel(Om617 i think). My car also came with an origional data card and on the data card it says 240D so i thought maybe it was a 240D but that wouldnt make sense since i have a 5cyl diesel. Then theres the vin plate on the door jam that reads "115 114 12 040222" so im led to believe its a w115... Picked up a vintage MB and im confused on the chassis

BCM Connector Replacement - water/corrosion

Out of curiosity, but has anyone here had to replace their BCM connector at all? Or better yet - replace the terminals/pins within the connector? The previous owner of my 2004 E320 never replaced the third brake light, which is notorious for allowing water to leak into the trunk. The water pools up on the plastic cover/trim right above the BCM, which of course passes over the BCM and its associated connector. Is there a way to disable the alarm?

I am having a problem with my stock alarm system in which it goes off randomly (even after starting the car), and when I lock the doors with the remote, the lights will flash and alarm will sound occasionally. Now I know there must be a short somewhere, which is going to be fun to diagnose. And I'm not taking it to the stealership just to shell out $200 so they can plug the computer in and tell me what's triggering the alarm. So, it the meantime, I am manually locking the doors w/o the... Is there a way to disable the alarm?

EGR valve question

1986 300E W124 - having many EGR valve type issues, but cannot locate the valve. Not on the exhaust manifold or on the back of the block wedged in front of the inner firewall as in some illustrations, and does not appear to be under the air filter assemble. 1986 was the initial and transitional year for this model in many ways. Has anyone seen an EGR valve on this car?

380SL - 1982, Front wheels - brake disc removal

I am trying to replace the front brake discs and need some help / tips. I have tried many ways but the brake discs are not budging. I also don't see any connection that will come off. Tried putting WD40 every possible gap i found but nothing is working so far. Here are the pictures.

Fuel Filter Replacement question

My ML350 is due for a new fuel filter. I've got about 163k miles on it and its on the original factory fuel filter. I bought a new filter and I am going to start the process of replacing. When replacing the filter, do you need to repalce the fuel lines as well? Or just the filter?

How to get to the equalizer from the Carplay or Android auto screen?

Hi, In my 2017 GLS when I am on the Radio screen or any media (USB, CD, etc...) I can adjust the audio (Treble, Medium and Bass) through the equalizer which is at the bottom right corner of the main menu. My problem is that I did not find out how to get to the equalizer once I have started a Carplay or Android Auto connection. How can I get to the equalizer from the Carplay or Android Auto screen? Once I am connected to Carplay or Android Auto I dont have access to any the main menu anymore... How to get to the equalizer from the Carplay or Android auto screen?

I'm rebuilding the ABC Block from my 2003 SL500. Awaiting arrival of my O-ring kit, I removed all the old ones including the (1) each GREEN & BLUE rings from the valve PLUNGERS of 2 of the valves. ANYONE KNOW WHERE I CAN GET REPLACEMENTS??? CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY ARE NOT INCLUDED IN A REBUILD KIT... HELP! THANKS.

Roof stuck down

The roof is stuck down on a 06 SL 500. The front part of the truck on the passanger' side is up about 1 to 2 inches and the drivers sides is down flush. I did just replace the starter and disconnected the battery. I did reset the windows but the whole system is dead. Any pointers would be appreciated, my wife just bought the car and I haven't had time to do the research yet.

1997 C200 W202 Misfire

Car was running well but started random misfire. Checked fuel rail,injector connections etc, spark plugs, all looks good. Still starts, misfiring, revs to 4000rpm OK then starts to misfire big time, thumping from side to side. I am 250km from nearest MB dealer, any ideas appreciated. Thanks, Bob.

EGR problem on 99 E300td

Hey guys, I have a 99 E300TD with about 140k on the clock. The check engine light came on and we scanneed it. Its reading P0400, which says an EGR malfunction. I tried to do a little bit of homework on here and I'm reading about the EGR tube getting clogged. I reset the code to see if it comes back on again but in the mean time I'd like to take a look at the EGR system. The problem is I have no idea where the EGR is on this damn car. A209 drivers seat will not lean forward and head rest will not go down

Fuses are ok. Head rest moves up but will not go down. Seat will lean back but not forward. Seat moves forward and backwards just fine. Anyone else have this problem and has solved it?

The seller told me the car was purchased at auction, and needed a starter. We got it home, saw there was at least a starter on it, and decided to run some power to it to start diagnosing. To our surprise, the car actually started up and ran quite well! Other than a valve adjustment, what might be some... Progress!

W208 Steering Controls Interface

2000 CLK 320 Convertible No BOSE. Installed a Pioneer AVIC5000NEX Nav/radio unit which works fine and looks like a factory original. Tech can't get the steering wheel controls to work. In the command panel he gets AUDIO ---- but the volume and station buttons on the steering wheel will not activate. He has tried using a PAC Audio SWI-PC5 per the Pac Audio techs. No help. Nothing else is affected --- just the radio. The audio tech says he is getting voltage from the steering wheel controls... W208 Steering Controls Interface

2004 C230 Kompressor I have both turn signals not working , car been sitting in the garage for almost 2 years. starts well but unabel to get registered . confused 2015 ML350

I have a 2015 ML350 4 matic AWD gas only. It has single air intake on passenger side of engine ,think its a M276? So it all of a sudden has misfiring rough idle and low power especially noticeable at going from a stop. It showed a number of codes for multiple cylinders not working right. Changed all spark plugs and 3 of the 6 Ignition coils. still acting same and codes showing up of multiple cylinder issues. Im thinking the Mass air flow sensor is bad? where is it located on this model... confused 2015 ML350

b160 purge valve location

Hi guys, new b160 owner here. Bought the car this week, 2011, 80000 Kms. Very happy with is so far. Only one thing got me worrying at the moment. At idle there is a ticking sound from the engine bay. First i thought it was a bad valve lifter. After some googletime I found it might be the purge valve. Hope that's it. To investigate further I need to know the location of this valve. have a2004 c230k put key in ignition, turned to accsy to roll down windows. turned key off but left it in ignition for twenty minutes now car wont start, dash lights up all power options work but no crank at all? any ideas battery is fine key fob works ok

G'day, just picked one of these up at auction, and a registration check shows its been sitting idle for close on 3 years. Built 4/1989, advertised 1991, (evidently there was a 2 year wait list to get one in Australia A few questions. Now I'm 1200 kilometers from the car, its now been trailered to a friends property, he is mechanically minded as am I , BUT I'm not there. Door Fittings Identification / Advice

Would anyone be able to help identify a small fitting in the door, up towards the mirror area, it seems to be a lug inside the door, but what does it do? It seems to have moved from its original position looking at the washer mark in the paint. Also, should I remove the air bag before fitting a new liner, or just cut around it and seal accordingly? W114 250 brake light switch

Hey all, brake lights aren't working on my 1971 250, bulbs are new fuse is new, wondering if it's the brake light switch I see it's threaded I'm just wondering whats the proper way to get it out there's not alot of room to work with the brake pedal spring and pedal right there. Thanks in advance!

C55 Crank / No Start / No Spark

I'm hoping you can help me out. The other day I went to start my C55. I had to use the booster box to do so because the batter appeared dead. Easy, first turn of the key she starts right up. I then remove the booster box with motor running, and the motor dies. I double check the battery, and I realized the battery had a loose connection, so I tightened it to do a restart. No luck. Now the car only cranks / no start / fuel pump works though. 1) I then decided to check all fuses in... C55 Crank / No Start / No Spark

So, finally got my car all back together after a bunch of work (while doing the lifter check, figured I'd might as well do plugs, fuel lines, and a bunch of other little things). Installed replacement injection-rated hose, got the car all set out and took it for a nice drive- it drove excellently! However, I realized when cleaning up that I forgot one of the metal brackets, which holds the metal fuel lines to the firewall. After installing that, I noticed that I might have actually cut the... C140 Quarter window issues

Hey 140 crew, new to the Mercedes world but have been active in the BMW scene for over 10 years and ran and did service writing for BMW Indy shops for half that. I've had my C140 for about 3 months and I (unfortunately) acquired it with a failed rear driver's regulator. I had a local Euro shop install a new OEM regulator and it works but it doesn't seem to go either up or forwa enough (maybe both?). Either way theres a roughly 1/4" gap between the top of the driver and rear windows for the... C140 Quarter window issues

Does anybody know if 1987 560 SEC seats are controlled by the same switch that came stock in a 1984 500 SEC? It appears (I could be wrong!) that later (eg 1990-1991) 560 SECs used a different switch than 500 SECs. Thanks!

Downpipe heat shield

The amount of heat coming from my downpipes into the drivers footwell is getting unbearably hot, is there a heat shield underneath my driver's side down pipe that I am missing ? Or do I need to wrap something on it to stop the heat. It's a 1988 560sl.

hello everyone, I recently picked up a g500 and it starts fine until the engine is at operating temo above 80. Then the car won't start in park just neutral. If it cools back down then it starts in park again. battery is brand new, tried the rely on the passenger side along with the brake light switch. is there an inhibitor switch ion these trucks or other reason why the start is finicky?? 2010 ML 350 Diesel High Oil Consumption

I have a 2010 Bluetech, it had a clogged dpf, and an underboost code with no power not going over 45. Finally parts came in to do the recall. Had the oil cooler done at the same time. After recall work is done it's running fine again but now it's burning through oil. Oil light is coming on every 300 miles or so. I'm tired of throwing money at this thing. Hello fellow Benzies! I hope to find guidance/advise concerning who in the Louisburg, Youngsville, Raleigh, NC area can replace or rebuild my transmission. Does "no reverse" mean that a replacement or rebuild is the remedy? Could their be another reason for loosing "reverse" although the other gears work? I am driving without reverse, parking on inclines in parking lots or in a double front/back drive out space. Which one is better maintenance in Australia? W163 petrol or diesel?

Hello guys, I'm from Indonesia and I'm Planning to move to Australia. I'm interested to own W163 ML 350 or ML 320, But I've seen in marketplace that so many ML 270 CDI models, is it difficult to own a diesel merc in australia? because I never own a diesel merc before. and, for the maintenance, are there many merc specialist workshop in australia?
