I have a 92 500SEL I have been resurrecting from neglect. The shifting has always been a little choppy and not super smooth. I know these 722.3 transmissions are finicky, but I do think mine MAY have been rebuilt at some point. The shifts are strong with no slipping, and it goes into reverse perfectly.
