Ml430 radiator fan conversion to ml500

So has anyone done this Conversion. Take the radiator fane clutch and fan off there ml430 and put on a ml500 electric fan on. How hard or easy is it to do. And what would I need to do this conversion.

2013 Sl550 Headlight Assembly Cracked after replacing front bumper.

I am trying to get an understanding of how my headlight assembly can be cracked after the insurance company repair shop replaced my front bumper after a hit and run. When I initially took the car to the shop with the ding in the bumper, the headlights did not have any condensation or water in the lenses. Mind you I rarely leave the car in the rain and I wash the car once a week or when needed. Is M119 immortal?

I was thinking about having some maintenance done on my M119 when I do the wiring harness (still 1-2 years away as it is still "good" (if not touched)) I was looking for the most common problems with M119 but was unable to find any that would be really deadly (like throwing a rod, burnt pistons), common suggestion is to change the timing chain - hmmm, anybody ever seen a broken one on this engine? I have only seen one on M117 (and that engine is said to be prone to failure because of... Is M119 immortal?

Headlamp Turn Signal - Short

My driver side turn signal on the headlamp went out today, and upon removing the bulb socket I noticed one of the electrical contacts was severely corroded. Cleaning the corroded contact on the socket, and replacing the bulb did not fix the issue. I checked the service DVD, and there is a DTB out for this issue. Says to do the wiring harness upgrade. However, it gives no information on how to clean the contacts within the housing. I'm sure just cleaning the contacts would solve the problem... Headlamp Turn Signal - Short

CDI aftermarket Exhaust - Worth it? Eisenmann?

I started looking for a summer project for the CDI and came across aftermarket exhausts. Eisenmann's seem to be the most available…but also the most expensive about 2.5k. I'm wondering if anyone has the mod and if anyone thinks it's worth it? Any effect on the drone? I'm familiar with gasser exhaust upgrades but is there a noticeable difference on a diesel? Open to other exhausts if or none at all. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

Exhaust tips?

I think it is a pity that the exhaust pipes are hidden on the ML350 w166. It is like if the car had been emasculated :frown I am looking for after market exhaust tips that could be added without replacing the rear bumper but have not found anything yet.

SLS fluid tank plastic fitting to metal line leak

Is there an o-ring that is supposed to be in there? The fluid is leaking out of this fitting where it meets the plastic cap inlet (in the attached photo the shadow around the vertical portion doesn't really show the wetness, but you can see where it leaked down to the cap). Otherwise, is this dribbling normal? I hope not.

Hi all, Does anyone have any knowledge of the load dependent brake valve / ALB Modulator, specifically function and adjustment? It's in a difficult location to get to, and without yet resorting to taking mine out to inspect it, wondered if anyone could fill in details, such as how much movement is there in the lever/piston assembly in normal operation?, does turning the adjustment screw clockwise just add force to the lever against the piston?, etc. Diagram attached gleaned from another... I think I did too good of a job on my paint and now it looks worse

I did a 3 step paint correction that took 30 hours on my 1997 SL500 with MB 040 black paint and after the finishing polish stage it looked phenomenal, but after I applied a ceramic coating (NV NOVA EVO), it got too reflective to the point where now instead of a deep wax like candy apple gloss it's like a perfect black mirror. On overcast days the car looks dark grey as it reflects light like a mirror and it's not that nice deep black anymore. What do you think I should do? Basically I did... Newer Man Cave Comming

I haven't been able to work on Samson in a while because I have been working on my new man cave design. This one will be 39' x 30' x 10'. It will be 9 ft smaller than my NC cave but I do have a very good sized basement in this house for my machine shop. It will have 3 doors. 1 30'x 16' work bay for a 2 post lift and the other will be a 30' x 22' bay where I will put my current 4 post lift. What about the idea of operating the convertible manually?? That would be one less problem to deal with. If you deleted hydraulic suspension that possible problem is gone.

w211 E350 Fuel Pump

I had my fuel pump replaced Friday and it's still smelling like gas in the car. There was a hose that wasn't fitted correctly that they fixed on Saturday but I'm wondering if the new fuel pump is bad...what else might it be?

560SL wont start

Been having some warm start issues. I changed the accumulator 7-8 years ago with Bosch. What tends to work lately is swapping the fuel pump relay. But yesterday it didn't work. I just installed a URO accumulator and I backed out the driveway and then backed into the garage to change transmission module cap. Now it won't start. I swapped out fuel pump relay and it still won't start.

Car just had the rear engine seal replaced and the gas purge valve replaced, it had gone faulty causing the gas tank to compress/decompress and a gas tank fuel leak developed that they fixed. Iron + Fallout Remover on 8 spoke wheels

Rear Lower Control Arm Bolt Size?

Hi - new member here. Recently purchased my first Mercedes, 95 W140. Working on restoring a few items and currently converting SLS to non SLS OEM components. During the swap found the drivers side lower rear control arm bushing was blown out too. I only had a 19mm handy today - what is the bolt/socket size for the lower control arm and the accompanying nut? Looked like maybe a 21/22mm? Thanks.

Stage 2 Tune

I drive a 2013 Mercedes a180 CDI with a stage 1 tune. I tried many things to get a better sound coming from it but I'm down to my last resort. Full Straight pipe (downpipe). Thing is, when getting a downpipe you need a stage 2 tune. Thing is, i have no idea if y engine will be able to handle it considering its a Renault 1,5l (I dont know the engine's name, sorry). Vito W639 error code P0471

Hello, Its my first topic here. I am having issue with my car (MB Vito W639 115 CDI 4x4). Few days ago when i drove my car, i saw that engine light ON. So, i connected car to obd2 scanner and computer showed me P0471 error code. Its something with exhaust back pressure. So, i bought new DPF, DPF sensor (part number A0061539528) and replaced it. After that i deleted error codes. Unfortunately, it did not help. I still have error code P0471. Anybody know , what's wrong with my car ... Vito W639 error code P0471

I am fairly new to the online forums. However, I can tell that that this site is very well maintained with tons of great people helping each other. Thank you for allowing me into this community. 2013 vito 116cdi coolant temperature.

Hi guys. New to this forum but thought I would give this a go recently brought my new 116 vito awesome bit of kit its my 3rd 639 model however my coolant temperature on the dash has been reading 100 degrees on a run. 70mph it climes just over 100 but then drops down to 90/95 always flutuating so I had the thermostat changed didn't sort it! 1981 380sl Oil Change then massive oil slick

I just changed the oil on my wife's car and when I went to install the canister filter I thought the rubber seal was snug against the housing because the bolt became tight and I did not want to overnight it. I pulled the distributor wire and cranked the engine for about 10 secs to build up some oil pressure. Started up the car and as it literally sprang to life I saw a huge oil puddle growing under the engine so I shut it off right away and threw a huge chunk of cardboard under the car but... 1981 380sl Oil Change then massive oil slick

disconnected soft top frame question

I bought a 1991 SL300 last year. The previous owner took it to a shop that tried to fix the hydraulics and in the process disconnected the soft top frame from the body on the driver's side and never put it back together. The owner got disgusted and sold it. I knew about this before I bought it. There are two bolts that should connect this frame to the body but I can't seem to find a YouTube video showing how this is done or a diagram showing what I have to remove to get this reconnected so... disconnected soft top frame question

416 Electrical Problems

Please check your OVP relay connection

I see a lot of intermittent engine issues on this forum. I wonder if at least a few of them might be from a situation I experienced. The female pins where my OVP relay plugs in had some slight corrosion on them, but even worse, the pins has opened up and were no longer making solid contact on the OVP's male pins. I discovered this while jiggling the OVP while the engine was idling. You could hear the RPM change every time contact was lost then reestablished. The fix was taking the pin...
