Epic build or a waste of time and effort?

I have a 1988 560 euro SEL 822 300hp sedan as you see in the photo. I also have a 91 SEC that I am about to part out. The SEC was hit in the rear but the rest of the car is awesome. Thinking about something that was popular 20 years ago of swapping the front fenders and hood from a SEC to a sedan. I know in the archives there are pic's of these cars and I always thought they were really kool at the time. Will this de-value the SEL or take it to a new level. I welcome any photos of these... Epic build or a waste of time and effort?

Radio not working

I have 2000 E320 after the battery dead replaced the battery and got no power for radio, check fuse #5 in this case fuse OK. The fuse box next to the battery under the rear seat. Any one have similar problems ? Thanks in advance. / Wally

Dome Light Bulb Socket

Does anyone have a part number or source for purchasing replacement dome light bulb sockets for the R230? One of mine is giving me issues. When I tried to replace the bulbs with LEDs one side works fine but the other one will not light up - I rotated the bulb to no avail. I even swapped the bulbs and sockets but the one socket will not light with the LED bulb inserted. The OEM bulbs work. Just trying to find the twist in socket to see if there is a cheap fix. Thanks

SBC unit

I have a 2003 e500. The SBC unit has a 25 year warranty but I don't want mine to break on the 26th year and I'll have to pay $2000 to fix it. Does there have to be an error for it to be replaced ? And if so how can I make that error come faster ?

2004 CLK500 Cabriolet cannot reinstall driver door panel trim.

I took off the driver door panel to install a new master window switch since the old one had a bunch of broken switches and I cannot reinstall it to save my life, I spent at-least 4 hours trying to re-install it but gave up because I ran out of light. I've done a bunch of door panels so I was very familiar with removing and re-installing them however this panel was such a problem child. Am I missing something? Am I doing something wrong?

The left side of my 2010 E550 4Matic is approximately 1 inch higher than the right side. Occurs cold and after driving. Same delta measurement when I raise the height using button on console. I am wondering how to tell if a sensor is bad because the voltages and heights according to datastream values appear to be not consistent. W213 E53 AMG Cab Winter tires

I have a 2021 with the 20" rims that I purchased last year. Unfortunately it has summer tires and I live in upstate NY. These are staggered tires and when I went to tire rack to build get tires they recommend going to 19" rims and using Non Staggered tires. Has anyone done this? Heard of it? If Perelli would only sell the M&S Run flats available in europe here I would get those, but I can't seem to get that to happen. So their suggestion if 19" rims non staggered with non staggered... 2009 R350 no-start condition with "remove key" message.

Went to start the R350 after leaving an appointment. Seemed like the starter engaged for half a second and then nothing. I swear I saw a little puff of smoke drift out from the front passenger side of the car outside, but it was drizzling outside and it could have been steam or something else. Popped the hood and swear I could smell a faint electrical odor.... but you know how your mind can play tricks. Anyhow, had to get it towed home. Noticed that when I put the key in, I get a... 2009 R350 no-start condition with "remove key" message.

Sticky Residue on vent bezel and surround 03 SL500

Hi Has anybody had trouble with a sticky feel to the black vent bezels and their surround including the center area. I don't think I had this until I used a certain interior cleaning product from a well known detailing supplier. It has apparently softened the finish and made it tacky to the touch. Everyone I have a 2011 E350 4matic. Had the same issue alot of folks have posted about here except it was only the driver side shaking when stoppmh from highway speed in a window of 60mph down thru 40mph. Above 60 was fine. Below 40 was fine. My problem showed up at 130K miles. Did all the same things everyone else did. Didn't correct issue. The problem turned out to be the little control arm. Parking sensors not working.

Hi new to this forum stuff but need a bit of help. My parking sensors are no longer working on my B180 W245. When I first start the car the two red lights show on the dash and boot bars but nothing happens when I get near a object. Then when I drive off the parking sensors turn themselves off, the red light shows on the dash button to turn them off and on. and no matter how many times you press the button it will not turn the parking sensors back on.

I know this has been covered... and actually, I have done almost everything that seemed to be a solution for it. So my first bet was the alignment and balance, which did not help. Then I've put brand new Toyo tires, and they rebalanced the wheels, and checked the alignment in order to approve the 50k mile warranty. I have a MY 2010 W212 E350 4MATIC with the standard 245/45/17 tires on the standard 17" wheel. There is pronounced vibration on the steering wheel when light tapping the brakes at about 45MPH and above...but only when the brakes are applied lightly. The steering is vibrating, NOT the brake pedal. I replaced all four rotors. No effect. I replaced all brake pads. No effect. I replaced all four tires with new Michelin's. Road force balanced. I have a MY 2010 W212 E350 4MATIC with the standard 245/45/17 tires on the standard 17" wheel.

Hello, I am a newbie and hope I am posting in the right forum. I have a 2009 C300 sport. The check engine light was on so I took it to the dealer and they said the secondary air pump and relay needed to be changed. They wanted $1800 for this work. I sourced a new secondary air pump and changed it quite easily. My problem is that I do not know which relay controls the secondary air pump. Any one able to help?

The rears are terrible – inconsistent wear pattern that is almost bald in the middle. I am very diligent about maintaining proper pressure so I don't believe that's the issue. Down & dirty intake mod

Factory air boxes are often pretty good, but Subby & others have pointed out that the snorkel/muffler on our 230 inlet pipe (yellow arrows ) is even smaller than the ID of the air box inlet (red arrows ). On top of that, the nice, large air filer element extends into the incoming air path (orange arrow ) a good bit more than this photo depicts, so even if you remove the snorkel the inlet is still occluded. At best, the 2.5" ID of the air box inlet would offer 4.91 square... Down & dirty intake mod

I keep track of how many 600SEL's & S600's are in Australia ,every time one comes up for sale I save it's details , i'm missing on the two in Hombush , a black one and one in blue color . I don't think I pictured Trevors 600SEL here from Melbourne . I don't keep track of how many CL600's are around ,I know 1 in silver/beige is around in Sydney . More or less I think there are only 12-15 in Australia all up , considering some hidden once , unregistered 140's and maybe one or two that have... How many 600SEL's / S600 are in Australia ? . I've been compiling a register of factory M117 SEC's in Australia, visit 126.au There's over 100 of these identified, with approximately 250 here in Aus. I redact the full VIN and don't include sales prices, mileage, owner details. It's primarily a record of delivery colours & options.

Front seat Cushion's interchangeable?

I have a replacement Cushion for the driver seat since the original has a big tear right down the center and is a giant eyesore. The new Cushion says that its for the passenger side. However they are very similar, are you able to interchange the two?

Back Up Light On Warning - help please!

Last weekend I noticed the right hand brake light had failed on my sons 2004 CLK500. I duly replaced the P21W and off he went. A couple of hours later he sent me a WA he'd got this warning on the dash. He also says he's now unable to go from D to R without cutting the engine, restarting it in P and only then can he go into R. Any idea what's going on here? Any and all help much appreciated.

Hi I have a 2013 Mercedes C250. The mileage is about 45K. It was running super fine with no issues at all. I had a business trip for about 2 months. When I came back, I tried to start it but it couldn't. Actually it cranks, starts and runs for 2-3 seconds then dies. I scanned the codes and got a bunch of codes there!! I have a 2013 Mercedes C250. The mileage is about 45K. It was running super fine with no issues at all. I had a business trip for about 2 months. 2007 Sprinter 182 CID Diesel radiator "repair", what do you think?

The lower radiator hose (3-way) has a C clip to hold the sleeved lower hose in the radiator. The plastic radiator outlet (or is it the inlet) has a small broken piece that prevents the C clip from holding the hose in. Rather than replace the whole radiator, which is in excellent condition otherwise, I went to parts store and found a hose with a bend and a large diameter on one side and smaller diameter on the other side. Another 560SEL rear strut question.

I'm curious if anyone has used these guys services? Or should I say has anyone had there struts rebuilt by these guys. They get $495 a side to rebuild your units, not expensive but hardly cheep. I just know from experience that some rebuild companies produce an end product that is equal to new and some produce junk. I'm hoping someone may have used them and has some feedback. Just a note but the only new ones I'm finding are from Dubai (UAE) at $2500 a pair. Rebuild Master Tech Inc... Another 560SEL rear strut question.

I bought two wheels last month on Ebay and I saw 2 were sold before I bought my set, so if you bought those two wheels (would have been 18"x8") then I can make you a worthwhile offer. Can the COMAND screen be adjusted for vertical position and contast?

I replaced the screen in my COMAND head unit with the following: LQ065T5AR01, and it is super bright and hard to read. Yes, I have adjusted brightness in both day and night mode to both extremes. It is only readable in Night mode. Also the image is low on the screen and needs to come up about 1/8" as the text at the bottom are cut off by the bezel. You cannot move the screen in any direction as the DVD slot frame prevents it from moving up to compensate. I notices some adjustment pots on the... OM352A turbo exhaust manifold

Currently working on a better flowing exhaust manifold for the OM352A. The plan is to maximise the ID of the tubing and relocate the turbo flange slightly. Started templating a large single piece flange to provide more surface area and have less distortion. Will probably end up making a copper gasket the matches the flange profile. Hey W140 members. I had no luck on this post in the R129 forum so I'm trying my luck here as we have the same engine and transmission. My 1997 SL500 shakes at idle and the shaking is like a few small shudders then a few big shudders and oscillates. I can feel it in the seat and under my feet or if I rest my leg on the door. It's not "vibrating" and there is no vibration in the steering wheel and the shuddering itself is not too bad but noticeable. Car mileage is 123,000 km. –Both engine...
