LED fog light replacement for 2006 SL500

Hello - I'm trying to find LED fog light bulbs that fit my 2006 SL500. The owners manual states that I need bulb 9006/HB4. However, I have tried three different sets of bulbs. The plug is correct, but the aftermarket bulb does not fit the housing. My stock halogen bulb has a larger circumference, which allows the stock bulb to fit the housing properly. P2004 error code without any issues

I have 2007 Mercedes s550, It runs without any issues but I can see P2004 error code which says: Intake Manifold Runner control stuck open Bank 1a. A week ago I saw a check engine light on, I plugged in ODB2 device and was able to read P2004 and P0025 (B Camshaft Position - Timing Over - Retarded Bank 2). I removed errors and Don't see check engine anymore as well as P0025. Only P2004 stays. I did some research and I see that usually p2004 pops up when [Intake Manifold Air Flap Runner][1]... P2004 error code without any issues

tire pressure monitor display on my 2010 C300 4MATIC

I am having a problem with my TPMS display info, so it seems. After driving for a few minutes, the only info from the TPMS displayed is "tire pressure monitor active". I cannot get the tire pressure numbers at all. This is the first time this has ever happened. I have already tried to reset to the current pressure and the message on the display won't change. T1 307D - things to look out for???

Im looking to purchase a 1986 T1 307D which has been converted into a motorhome, its done 144,000 miles and looks in very good nick for its age - i'm going to have a look tomorrow and was wondering if you guys could give any pointers on things to look out for at all; such as known faults or things that tend to wear etc etc. Anything to listen or look out for in the engine/gearbox/chassis.... Any help would be much appreciated :thumbsup:

Hardtop/softtop release cable replacement question.

Hi everyone. I was trying to replace the cable that releases the rear pin lock for the hard and soft top however I could not for the life of me figure out how how to insert the new cable ends into their respective mounting holes. Upon researching I knew that I had to unbolt the unbolt the rear pin latch assembly in order to be able to fish it out however even then I was not successful in removing the old cable without bending the crap out of it. W124 e220 m111 vacuum line issue

Hi all. I have recently got a w124 e220 auto. There is a white vacuum line coming from the block and I can't seem to find where it goes. When engine is running u can feel the pipe sucking in air. I believe I have a problem with a part I just purchased from Pelican Parts. The part is the Fuel Tank Strainer To Fuel Damper hose, part# 1164701575. Coolant Leak 1990 300SL M104 Engine

I hate reports of the weather from southern climes (hum). Up here in the G.W.N. (Great White North) it is repair & tune-up time. As said, finally fixed the SRS problem, a broken solder joint on the steering wheel slip ring. Also, seemingly a roll bar malfunction, which may have been just a blown cluster warning lamp. 96 E320 blowing in cabin turn signal/backup fuse

Just recently started blowing the fuse for turn signals/back up lamps. Everything works fine and out of no where I get a message on dash for bulb problem. At that point my turn signals no longer work and fuse is blown. Replace fuse and all is well till next time. Funny thing is it does not happen when I use turn signals or put car in reverse. It happens going down the road. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Correct rear tire size '95 Coupe?

While working on a rear vibration issue I found in the archive that apparently the '95 Coupes have different tire sizes front and rear. My car indeed has 7 1/2 x 16 rims at front and 8 x 16 at the rear (with longer lug bolts). EPC confirms that. EPC also states 235/60 tires at front and 255/45 at rear . Can somebody confirm that. I currently have 235/60 all round.

Unknown part found on my seat and floor

I need some help with identifying a part. When I got into my car this morning half of a white plastic part was sitting on my passenger side and half was on the door sill. Please see attached I'd really appreciate knowing where it came from. it appears to have rust marks in it. Hi, I went on a 2-month business trip and disconnected the battery so it wouldn't drain while I am away. I could have sworn I left the car unlocked, but now the doors and trunk are locked. E10 fuel

Anybody has any problems running their 126 gas car on E10 fuel (90% gasoline, 10% ethanol)? Florida has switched to E10 this summer and it really pisses me off that all grades including premium fuel are mixed with ethanol now. I am still able to find ethanol free gas here in town at one gas station, but such stations are practically nonexistent anymore. Anyway, I have not tried E10 in my '84 500SEL yet, but I am curious if somebody else has run their 126 on E10 without problems. Also... E10 fuel

180,000km service

Did a full service on my car today. Engine oil , Trans and plugs. Inc all filters obviously. All the plugs indexed pretty close at 23nm. The electrode was in the general direction of the injectors. I did use genuine plugs for the job. Everything looked to be in great shape throughout. I've shortened my trans oil change to a half flush every 20,000 km. The fluid that came out looked as good as it did when it went in... 180,000km service

Did a full service on my car today. Engine oil , Trans and plugs. Inc all filters obviously.

Hi Everyone, I have a 2021 E53 Coupe, the already good standard pops and burbles in sport+ we're great but I wanted more. I just installed a project gamma downpipe (great quality downpipe). The moment I took the car off the lift it sounded awesome! Pops and burbles were working and sounding stronger and deep BUT NEXT DAY, POPS AND BURBLES COMPLETELY STOPPED HAPPENING!!!! Hood adjustment - a hint

This is just a hint for those who care. The passenger side of the hood (US Spec 420SEL) sits flush with the fender. But drivers side sits a little high. Not too bad. Maybe a 1/4 inch. But it bothers me. So I decided to try adjusting again. I unscrewed the two stops completely to get a baseline. But it is difficult to see where the hood ends up without the stops when fully closed. Well, I went and bought a small container of Play-Doh. Then put a blob of Play-Doh where the stops are... Hood adjustment - a hint

just bought a set of W210 sport wheels, 16X71/2 ET41. couple of questions. will they fit without modifications? what size tire is correct? what tire sould i buy? the car is a '94 E320 sedan. just redid the suspension and brakes, bilstien sport shocks and struts, stock springs and pads new rotors and pads all around, new diff mounts and steering damper, etc. car will be my daily driver and will receive no other mods. just normal daily driving, no agressive hot roddin'. i do like to drive in... Fuel Injector part number for 1973 450SL

I am trying to see if someone has a part number for a fuel injector for my 1973 450SL. I wasn't sure if there were multiple part numbers due to the VIN but mine is 107044 12 85123. When I was looking for front caliper pins to replace the ones I broke, I found that for my VIN there was a "special" part number - not available or manufactured anymore (but found one). New rear wheel bearing parts--normal quality or send back?

I don't know what these parts are called in the rear wheel bearing kit, but in the first photos attached, you will see two nicks/gouges on the edge of one of the parts; the 2nd one of this part has the flat edge untrue (almost like if you traced a circle and the protractor didn't line up when you came back around). You may need to enlarge the photos. Are these reasons to send back? It's such a hassle and if they can be bought separately, I'd rather just do that. Or, can these be in good... Floppy side mirror syndrome

I've read the posts about resetting the mirrors by folding them in and then back out. They will fold in and the motor will move to the out position but the mirrors themselves do not move. I have to manually push the mirrors out but, they don't stay out. Sad floppy mirrors

This car has 87,000 original miles! The mechanics are great, everything is original (I bought it from the original owner about 18 years ago). It has spent most of its life indoors and/or covered. Has some signs of age: upholstery, window switch, some scuffs on the paint. I need some advice on suspension

Hello I have a 2004 E320 I have Eibach Pro lowering sprineegs on it. And I have staggered front 20x8.5" et35 Pirelli P Zeros 235/35/20 rear 20x10" et35 Pirelli P Zeros 265/30/20. And my car is goin through my tires like crazy! It's the inside of rear tires both that are bald way to quick. Does lowering car have to do with it? And what can I do to fix it?

Hey people I recently changed the oil on my W108 280 SE (M130 injection). I noticed that the used oil (had been in there for 2 seasons, car had been parked a lot) smelled quite a lot like fuel. 2018 w213 e220d AMG 4Matic Premium Plus Lost Connectivity

Just so you know I did read the stickies and I apologise in advance if my search of the forum missed an answer to this. I have the above car. It has been idle for the last few days. I drove it earlier and noticed that the Bluetooth connection was not working. I turned off the system. Turned off Bluetooth and reinitialised it on my phone. Eventually the connection happened and all was good. Trip was 15 mins. Was out of the car for an hour. I wasn't the person driving the 2002 S55 at the time but when I got it back I noticed the res empty with the suspension dip stick popped out and a nice spray pattern under the hood. I hooked up the star and ran the series of tests: sensors, valves, pump, dynamic test. Every thing passed with out any new codes or leaks. I'm not sure where to go from here, what would cause alot of pressure in the suspension fluid res?

To cat or not to cat

I recently installed a cat back SuperSprint exhaust on my 560SL and the quality is the best and it sounds great (second picture)! Misfire #4 and #7.

Working on a 2004 S500 with check engine light with misfire for #4 and 7. Perform quick test and verified complaint. Very randomn with this misfire. Perform compression and cylinder leak down and its good. Install 2 new coils spark plug wires and all spark plugs. Have customer drive and return and codes came back after 1 month. Same codes for misfire. Inspect plugs and they look fine. Install 2 new injectors for the two cylinders 4 and 7. Customer drive car and again misfire codes. thinking... Misfire #4 and #7.

VIN Coded ECU Adaptation

Good afternoon, all. The ECU in my 2009 W211 E350 fried itself. I purchased a remanufactured ECU coded to my VIN, but it still requires adaptation to my vehicle. I don't know if my iCarsoft MB 2.0 can do this, but nothing I've found suggests it can. I was told by the shop that tested the ECU and sold me the replacement was that I need to take it and the car to a shop with the capability to do so. Suspension won’t rise

Hello hopefully someone can help me with my problem. I have a 2003 500e and I recently changed the aromatic pump because the hose between the pump and the filter was ripped. And my car was riding low. When I would get in the car the stop vehicle too low would be on then as I drove it would turn off and then 5 miles down the road it would come on again. So I took the pump out ordered another one and put it in. But it doesn't raise the vehicle. Any suggestions?

Front lower control arm replacement

Should I be torquing the lower control arm nuts (the front lower and the 2 for the lower rear bracket) with our without the torsion bar connected upon lowering the vehicle on its wheels. I did it with the torsion bars connected woth slightly inaccurately adjustments. Currently it sits level with torsion bars adjusted correctly and no front sway bar attached as im wondering if I need to loosen and re torque the 3 lower control arm nuts. Was checking the VIN # of my car online and i can see "M013 - Engine Reduced Performance". The engine of the car is OM642. Can this be removed by tuning ECU? Any ideas.

dome light r129

I have the problem that when i close my doors and even lock the doors the dome light sometimes does not go out . When i swich on the contact to position 2 , the dome lights goes out . Anybody has any ideas what the problem can be?

The Haynes manual describes that the time/ thermal switch is connected to the cold start valve on the intake manual. The single temp switch operates the cold start solenoid on the mechanical fuel pump. -- Well on my car it is obviously wired the opposite way. New Struts

Today I installed new sway bar links, struts and strut mounts in the SLK350. Blissfully simple job and boy did it make a huge handling improvement. I have the rear shocks on order, but they have not yet arrived. The vehicle is getting pampered with tender love and care and showered with new parts. This is already a fun buggy. It is about to get better. I have also ordered a pile of engine parts and will install them as well. Mama will like her mall crawler.

Unimog 405 engine issue

Hey everyone, I'm new to the Unimog world and have recently inherited a 1988 unimog 406. The truck has run fine for about a year untill it started turning off after about 4 to 5 minutes of running. When i start it up after a few day it fires right up and will run a few minutes then die. As I continue to try and start it after it dies the initial time the time that it runs gets shorter and shorter till It will no longer crank on. Iv purchased new fuel filters and fuel pump and have installed... Unimog 405 engine issue

Air con condenser replacement

next job to do on the '92 s320 is get the air con working, Need to replace the condenser, How much of the front end needs to come apart to remove it? I can't seem to find much online on the process.

Mercedes w203 1.8 2005 c180 tube puncture

Hello everyone, i drove my car today and was very suspicious about the car. The transmission was not changing gears, and it didn't let me go in reverse only why i turn of the car. I opened the hood, and found a tube going inside the engine, punctured and smoke coming out of it. (See pictures below). Can someone help me with what im dealing with here?

Front headrest reset

In my 2008 E280 CDI the front seat headrests are in an unconfortable forward position. I have read that there should be a tool in the tool kit that should be used to reset the headrests back in a normal position - unfortunatelty I don't have this tool. Anyone knows of a way to rerset the headrests without the tool? Thanks

New car audio input question

I will be getting a 2006 CLK500 coupe and driving it over 1000 miles back home. I need some way to listen to phone audio on the way back but I can't figure out what inputs are standard on that car (aux, USB, Bluetooth, etc). I've looked for an embarrassingly long time and can't find an answer on this so I would appreciate help

This is 2001 S600. Instrument cluster Clock went missing (some time ago), there was just blank space next to gear selector display. I just replaced battery that would not hold charge anymore, reset ESP, windows etc. but clock never came back. So I checked if COMAND clock is working and it is, though it was 1 hour late and date was way off… like Feb 19, 2000. Any spring Gurus out there?

While invstigating a clunking noise in my 1999 S600, discovered that the left front coil spring was broken near the lower end and had shifted in its perch so that it was hitting the shock. Removed the spring and started researching a set of replacement front springs. It seems that most parts sellers have a "one size fits all" for the W140? After reading a bunch of posts, it appeared that the Bilstein B3 36-233120 was a correct spring for the V-12. A call to the dealer was no help as they... Any spring Gurus out there?

w210 glow plug relay starts too late

I have w210 E270 classic, MY 2000. The problem is that my glow plug relay activates (send voltage to glow plugs) too late. It sends voltage to glow plugs only when the engine starts but not when I turn key ignition on (as it was before and as it should). First, I thought that my relay is bad but tried to put new one and the same thing happened. All glow plugs are replaced and wires checked (resistance below 1ohm). To be more specific, I opened relay and recorded how it works in the video... w210 glow plug relay starts too late
