Any spring Gurus out there?

While invstigating a clunking noise in my 1999 S600, discovered that the left front coil spring was broken near the lower end and had shifted in its perch so that it was hitting the shock. Removed the spring and started researching a set of replacement front springs. It seems that most parts sellers have a "one size fits all" for the W140? After reading a bunch of posts, it appeared that the Bilstein B3 36-233120 was a correct spring for the V-12. A call to the dealer was no help as they... Any spring Gurus out there?
