Wiper Blade Situation

Hello all, I have had a sl500 for about 2 months. I have had no issues with the wiper blade. Today I went driving in the rain for about 20 minutes. Before I reached home, I noticed the wiper was starting to get crushed against the A pillar. Then it fell off. I had to pull over and get it. Now when I put it back on, it seems 2 inches too long. I know the wiper blade for a 1994 sl500 is 22 inches, and that is what I have. SO why is it hitting the slide and why was it getting bent on the side... Wiper Blade Situation

C55 Power Steering Issue

Hi all, Purchased a 2005 C55 a few months back. It had a pulsation in the steering wheel unlike anything I had ever felt in any other car. Here are the steps taken since: 1. Full power steering fluid flush w/ lubricant (didn't fix issue) 2. Replaced pump reservoir (didn't fix issue) 3. Replaced pump (new) and rack (Bosch reman unit). W209 skid plate

I purchased an 08 clk 550 almost 3 yrs ago. At the time of purchase, I had gone over the vehicle with reasonable care but did miss one important item. Apparently, the PO had driven over a curb as I later had to replace a lower control arm and a cracked rim. Also I had noticed the front and rear splash shields were missing. In checking the catalogue and reviewing several videos, I can easily order and replace these parts .However there is also a skid plate which i can not seem to locate on... W209 skid plate

Hello guys! I'm new here and I wanted your opinion on buying a 2009 convertible CLK 200 I found this one with a good deal ( 5000 Euros) At least that's what I think lol The car has only 120,000 km on it I went to see the car and it looks good, sounded a bit loud when the engine turned on but he said it is because it was parked for a long time and hasn't been used so the oil needs to be changed -Which model is this one because I dont know, Avantagrde, Elegeance, etc... -I'm going to take... Key Fob Problem

I have a wonderful 2005 SL500 (left hand drive in Canada) that has developed an intermitent problem. The "unlock" button on my key fob doesn't always work. I have changed the fob battery with no improvement. When I first approach the car in the morning, the fob button will not unlock the car. I have to use the physical key in the door. Transmission slipping or not changing gears smoothly

I just purchased a 2015 s63 mag with 52k Mike's. I noticed it doesn't always smoothly roll from park. I have to step on throttle to move forward; is this normal? It is a heavy car. Today, in cold weather the car was in comfort mode and wouldn't shift from 2nd gear and the tachometer was well over 2500 rpm. mid something wrong or is this normal?

Coolant leak front drivers side, cant locate!

I have a slow drain coolant leak at the front drivers side. I cant determine were it is coming from. Does not appear to be the big hose on top. Should I use stop leak? Does anyone have diagram do identify which hoses to check?

ML500 stalling on acceleration

My 2002 ML500 sometimes stalls or has no power when pulling away, I have replaced the MAF, one of the O2 sensors and the throttle control relay (the part that the cable is attached to) all to no avail, it has been suggested I should try changing the Crank position sensor any ideas or suggestions

White ‘99 S600 Project Thread

Starting this project thread pre-emptively as I actually haven't brought the car home yet. I have said many times in the past that, "the age of the $1500 S600 is over". That's still correct, but at $2500 purchase price, I can't exactly claim victory over that statement with this car. 150,000 miles. It runs like crap. Throttle doesn't work because the TPS died. I was told that the car should be service twice a year. My parents followed the guidelines of do dates by the car computer, who's correct? Second, I was driving and all of a sudden my display window look like it was going through a automatics service check as it scrolled across the screen. My parents had never seen this happen... I have recently bought a pair of Bosch Aerotwin blades for my '04 Jaguar XJR and I was very impressed. Now driving the 560 SEL and realized that I have not put any blades on this car since purchasing it 4 years ago - and it needs them\ badly. I found this - 22" pair Bosch-Aerotwin-3397118933 - it is not clear if it will fit our cars. Any one with any experience with the Bosch Aerotwin? Thanks.

Which way to turn emergency brake Star wheel

Right now I am trying to tighten the emergency brake on a 1979 450 SL with an anti-squat rear end. I believe that the anti-squat aluminum control arms have the star in a different place than standard stamped steel control arms. I saw that I had taken notes of which way to go on my 1985 to 80 SE four-speed W1 26. The directions were up and down. I documented that in the thread I have on that car. 2003 c230k oil level check hangs up...

I'm back ,, no longer have the 300e4m , new car is a 2003 c230k coupe ,,, the dash display needs changing but when it's readable I try to check the oil level and I get no response ... just the "turn key on with engine off" message ... (with the key on and engine off) ,, oil level display function had worked previously... Is this an oil level sensor issue or something else... Also what is the cheapest code reader that can pull ESP codes? I definately don't want to pay the dealer for a code... 2003 c230k oil level check hangs up...

Sunroof motor continues after it's closed

I've notice that when I'm closing the sunroof on my 85 300D, the motor continues after the sunroof has completely closed and it's not a nice sound. is this the sign of a faulty switch on the dash or some kind of relay at the motor itself? for now I get around it for now by closing the sunroof to within an 1" then tapping the switch until I hear the sunroof go into it's fully closed position otherwise I fear snapping the cable.

85 coupe wires in door?

New member first post. Servicing inside the door I came across a round 3 wire connector that looks factory installed but there's nothing to connect it to. my guess is it's for something European like a light that comes on when the door is open. Any ideas? I'm thinking of using them to add a remote electrical door lock system as it saves time running new wires

W211 320CDI Brake pusating while driving

Hi ! Have this lovely W211 E320CDI with the OM648.- lovely machine! But ! I have this pretty annoying problem going on. Whike driving the brake on the rear left is activating (pulsating very quickly)and the SBC pump is running. I have changed the rear wheel speed sensors and the magnetic rings. But no change. There is no fault codes stored in memory. Have anyone tried something like this ?

Removal Instructions for rear seat arm rest

I have a 2006 R500 and have no choice but to remove the arm rests on rear seats. I am referring to the second row seats, of course. Both rear seats have baby seats strapped in them for my kids. Hence those seats don't fold forward allowing another passenger to get to the 3rd row seat. The only way to get to the third row has been by squeezing through the middle of second row seats. Hi all, I just replaced both the front and the back flex disc's today and prior to doing it I hunted around to get a DIY for R129's but never did find any - (Maybe I did not look hard enough). 2001 S500 ABC PUMP

Troubleshot - gunky oil

Went to check my oil / add more... Car had a recent oil change but the dipstick showed low so I opened to add more and noticed this gunky look to it all. Any ideas what it could be? Looks like water got in the oil or something... in which case most likely head gasket issue? Any advice would be much appreciated.

'88 560SL - Replacing 'A' pillar weatherstripping

I need to replace 'A' pillar weather stripping seals on both driver and passenger sides. The MB original equipment product is super expensive. I have also read that people are generally unhappy with aftermarket products for this repair. But I thought I would take a shot at putting the question out there. Anyone have a recommendation on aftermarket 'A' Pillar weatherstripping seals that are of acceptable quality based on your experience.

I own a U1300L Ambulance-to-camper conversion, with the OM352 normally aspirated engine. It came with a (roughly) 36 gallon (135 liter), passenger side mounted, galvanized steel tank. I decided I wanted to have more fuel capacity, and fitted two Freightliner M2 50 gallon aluminum tanks. I used the Pollack 6 port electronic switch to route the two tanks' fuel flow to the engine. Facing down, so yes, they will be in the field of view when mounted. My question, solicitation for opinion if you will, is how do you feel about mounting 40,800 lm of light in each upper corner of the windscreen (facing out/forward, to be clear). These would mount on a tree cage, or similar, and obfuscate about a 6" radius out of the visible area. My rough testing says this is not an issue for visibility, but I would like opinions. Okay, I have a 1991 300TE 4MATIC. The last six of the serial number are: 189323.One of the rear hydraulic shocks started leaking. I have been able to obtain a used one. I have a bit of a conundrum though. When attempting to remove the small line coming out of the shock in order to take the old shock off, I ended up cutting it because the fitting wouldn't turn. Well my first try at an oil change didn't go so well. Seconds after starting the engine afterwards oil spewed out around the bottom of the plastic filter-can soaking the front of the engine and serpentine belt as well as the floor. I would estimate about a quart escaped in an impressive lubricant fountain focused in the direction of the cooler. The O-ring did appear to be pushed out there although I only installed it hand tight. Using the Mann filter I replaced all three of the O-rings... pukeing oil around filter

Plugged EGR valve tube

Hi all! I took my valve cover off to begin respraying it due to paint blistering and as I was working in the engine bay I noticed that the EGR valve's tube near the valve's end has been plugged!! One of its previous owners must have done it for some reason. I'm just curious, does anyone know what can result from the EGR valve tubing being plugged? Cheers ✌

I removed the instrument cluster to swap out an IC with another board and didn't mark the orientation. I need to know what side the "notch" faces so I can find pin #1. Rookie move...I know. Anyway, if someone has a picture of the component side of the PC board on a early (analog) cluster I would really appreciate it. I'll put a picture below to show the area I need. The ECU I got is exactally the same as my last one, in that it is the same model. Does anyone know the proper procedure for reinstalling a new ECU into this C280? This is my first post on BenzWorld, I hope you experienced folk can help me out with this one

I bought a new replacement ECU for my 96 C280 as my previous one broke, and began to misfire due to the ignition circuit within. The ECU I got is exactally the same as my last one, in that it is the same model.

Does anyone know the proper procedure for reinstalling a new ECU into this C280? I just want to make sure that nothing goes wrong etc.

ML320 doesn't start (no crank)

Mercedes Benz ML 320 1998 Mexico. So new keys where programed, the modules where checked. It cranks but doesn't start, fuel pump was checked. I have to mention that I was driving the ML with no problem at all, and suddenly on the high way I noticed the rapm's and temperature needles went off, they dropped to zero like when a fuse burns, I continued for about half mile and decided to stop and verify if the fuse was burned so I turned the engine off and saw that everything looked fine. tool kit for trim and clips

Found this nice tool kit on Amazon for the plastic tools to remove trim and molding along with a set of radio keys and 3 different keys to remove pins from the plugs of the wiring harness. All is included within a nice carrying kit. With tax and shipping to North Carolina the total was 26 bucks CNB

2006 W219 CLS500 ABS ESP Limp Mode

History: I bought this car 4 months ago with 67,000ish miles on it,and it seemed fine. After driving a couple days I got errors for ESP and ABS and the car went in to limp mode. Yeah...well these are just 'lines on paper' until somebody builds them. It looks like this thing can serve as a school bus for Farm Kids, if the dustbowl returns, if the one sketch is any indication. Hi guys, Just picked this one up today and yes it is very dirty. We are getting killed with single digit temps and snow so can't wash it just yet. It is a 2013 S550 4Matic with Sport Package and 61K miles. Drove it home from 3 hours away and just got home. Had been looking for a while and finally came across this one. Akebono brake pads front and rear

Can anybody suggest an alternative to Akebono brake pads for my 1992 230te wagon (running a 3L 606 turbo). I am hoping to fit my newly refurbished Ronal Pentas in the spring and dont want brake dust all over them and the Akebono pads seem to be the way to go. Eur423 on the front and Eur495 on the back. The E Bay supplier is dtautoparts1 in the US side of the pond and with postage and import tax it comes to £137.00, ouch!. Is there a ceramic brake pad supplier in the UK?

Happy New 2021!

Greetings all! I just wanted to say Happy New Year! I'm still around, haven't been having too many issues with my 1987 Benzo which is a blessing. The last thing I had to get for her was a new Interstate Battery about 2 months ago. I feel great to still have my 1987 Benzo after 20 years, she has about 365,000 miles on her now and still rolling strong. She got a good daily workout for 18 years straight driving back and forth to work 50 miles a day. I don't miss those days!!! Since i'm now... Happy New 2021!

Question about missing cargo floor plate covers

Hi, I am missing the two cargo floor plate covers (parts 163-920-08-86 and 163-920-07-86) on my 2004 ML 350. I can order new anthracite ones for around $465 (OMG!). But what I am curious of is whether or not the carpet is attached to the plastic plates with glue or some other method. I may just buy the wrong color plates for a lot cheaper and take the carpet off so they are just black plastic. Any thoughts or experience with this? Thanks... 2006 slk 350 Parting out tuned ECU (speedtuningUSA), HR Coilovers, supersprint headers, eisenmann mufflers (still in box), Carbon fiber hood (very mild damage to front) plus everything else except battery box. car has 8000mi on it, and was babied until I damaged the outside/front&rear quarterpanels after sliding out during a hydroplane. engine and tranny are tight and awesome Thanks for looking guys Respectfully, Dave
