Did my second oil change since owning the car, intermittent knocking noise right after starting up car after oil change.

I replaced the oil filter, I emptied the oil from the drain plug and I put everything back and torqued up the plug and filter and added 8 qts of oil, the same 5w40 as usual (Redline). The min/max stick is at halfway and I waited 10 minutes then started the car. Oil pressure reads "3" but engine makes intermittent knocking sound about 15 knocks then silence for a few seconds then knocking again. Mileage is 120,000kms and engine had full prior service history. What's going on?
