I am trying to replace the 3rd brake light in the trunk lid of my 2002 CLK55 AMG. The original one is dry rotted and faded. I was able to remove the original one (it broke apart in the process), but I am not able to get the new lens to snap into the housing. It has like 5 or 6 sets of finger clips the squeeze together when you push them in but once you get them in far enough, they spread back open and lock the lens to the light base.
