W220 Corroded Engine ECU - Common issue!

Hi All, I noticed recently when removing the engine on my 1999 S430 (Reseal etc) That the engine ECU harness plug was badly corroded. I believe that water draining in and around the bonnet edges wicks its way up inside the engine harness and corrodes the plug and ECU pins. When I went looking for a good used ECU in local yards they all advised that this is a very common problem... W220 Corroded Engine ECU - Common issue!
