Hello! I am restoring my 79' 450 SL that got hit by a tornado.
Initial drives revealed that the engine could not maintain a good temperature. I cleaned the radiator, flushed the system, and replaced the fan clutch, this seemed to help however the temperature still will not stabilize. Does the auxiliary fan make a big difference in terms of moving air for cooling the engine? big enough that if it was misaligned that it would be moving air away from the engine?
