Tranny shifts too hard, '87 560SEC

The shop pulled the intake manifold and replaced all the rubber and plastic bit under and around it. But now the tranny shifts too hard. There is an adjustment for that, I think, in the weird throttle linkage mess at the back of the manifold but I don't remember which one it is or how to adjust it for softer.
