Euro versus USA Parts ID

greetings. I have a 1979 R107, 280SL. It is a European model and never shows up on parts supplier websites. There are other MB 280 series vehicles shown such as the 280 CE. Further, the sites typically show the 450SL USA car. When using those sites should I use the 280CE model of the 450SL model to find the proper part #? I referring to genral items such as brake rotors, lines, pads, spark plugs, etc. Thanks all.
