Flood Damage to ISM (

During a heavy thunderstorm, I drove through flood water. After 1 day I could not shift the gear in the car with a red warning light with the following message ' visit workshop without shifting gear', I took to my mechanic and he said that it was the gearbox ISM which was the issue. However Mercedes mechanic is saying that they could not see any water ingress and this ISM was a sealed unit and therefore water could not have gone in!
