I've read, in various threads here and elsewhere, that the valve cover for an M104 can be made of either magnesium, or aluminum. My question: is there a way to tell?
I know that magnesium will burn if lit, but that seems an impractical test. I've also read about the vinegar test, but I'm not sure i have enough unpainted metal there to test it for sure.
