2005 C230k electrical problem!

I have a 2005 c230 and I had an alternator/battery visit workshop message. I jumped to conclusions because the battery wasn't charging and I put in an alternator. Sadly that didn't fix it. After further inspection I realized there was no voltage going to the alternator through the cable. I read that the positive Battery cable runs from the battery > starter > alternator. Since it starts beautifully (until the battery dies) I assumed that it was a break in the wire or that fuse after the... 2005 C230k electrical problem!
