Hey guys, I***8217;m sure this problem has been asked already but I can***8217;t seem to find the exact problem I***8217;m having. Recently, I***8217;ve noticed a slight decline in power but I mostly think it***8217;s with how fast the car is shifting. In the past couple days of driving, I***8217;ve noticed even when the car is hot and warmed up, The revs start to drop and it***8217;s almost like the car is about to stall and then there***8217;s a pretty loud thump that comes from the front and I can feel it in the shift knob. I have a 2002 330i automatic. If I***8217;m using the step Tronic feature, and I***8217;m in fourth gear and try to downshift to fifth the revs shoot up about 500 and then drop, then the thump/crash comes back. Sometimes the thump is even more pronounced and sounds quite terrible. Is this a bigger problem that I think or could it be that I need to change the transmission fluid? If I do need to change the fluid, could it cause even more problems. Thanks for the help guys!
