W208 cd player updgare (with Bose)

I have a new Alpine audio player, din 1 size, that I was thinking to change to my CLK year 2000. It has the bose setup, AUDIO 30 APS and I was wondering what should I consider with the swap. It seems that the new Alpine player does not work right away and I need to replace cable connections as well? There was one kit with setup that allows radio buttons from the steering wheel to work as well, but I wonder is that the only way to do this? Not even sure if those cables as sold anymore...
