Odd Oil Leak

Hi guys, Walked up to my '95 R129 and saw a bit of oil on the pavement directly below the left rear of the car. It is much further back than the axle, shock or differential. It's oil based, has not evaporated and has not grown in size - no further leaking. What could be the source of this oil so far back from anything mechanical? Thanks, Tory
