'99 e320 won't won't start

Hi. My '99 e320 won't turn over in park or neutral when I turn the key in the ignition switch. I thought it would be the neutral switch. While searching I read that they stopped the neutral switch in '97. My question is, what part has replaced it and what needs to be done. Thank you.
