Upgrading Exhaust on 2006 SL500

Hello all - I just purchased a 2006 SL500. The car is amazing, but the exhausts is too quiet for a beefy V8 engine. The muffler shop I took the car to said that the stock mufflers are small and that it is tough to put something else in there. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get a better growl out of the car. I'd like to hear the car when I accelerate. Nothing obnoxious, just a bit more aggressive. Please advise.
