Lifetime Transmission Fluid? E320 camper towing? I need your advice....

I have a 1998 E320 rear wheel drive station wagon with 187,500 miles. I bought it used from the Salvation Army at the 137,500 mile mark and for $2,500.00. The engine leaked oil and the rear SLS shocks were dead. I fixed everything. And then the power windows died...one by one. Now it runs fine but burns a little oil. Maybe a half quart every 2,000 miles. Not sure about the transmission though. I get a "klunk" sound when the car is on an uphill incline and I shift from park to drive. Not...
