Help with removing turbo

Working with a 1982 Mercedes 300d Turbo Trying to remove turbo but it won't come off. Removed the three nuts from the Y ring and it is stuck in there. Then I tried to remove all the nuts from the intake manifold and it won't come off. It seem I have to remove the turbo before I can mess with the intake. Any tips on removing Y ring? Pics attached.
