How to remove wide cowl under windshield

I'm taking my time with an AC refurb and it's a PITA to keep tucking the cowl under the windshield to close the hood because the car is parked outside. How does the temp sensor looking thing by the cabin air intake come off the wide cowl piece under the windshield? The sensor itself attaches with 2 screws but the cable doesn't have a connector at the sensor end and goes into a loom under the electronics box.
