Smart Car ?

Hey guys,.. was flipping through CL a couple a days ago and came across a "smart for two" car for cheap.. 2013, 166k, $1500 OBO.. Looks to be in pretty good shape.. Now, no way, am I even considering putting myself in one of those tin cans "on the road".. I passed one on the freeway not too long ago,..and the only thing I'm thinking "This guys is nuts,.. He's got some kind of a death wish".... Anyway, .. my plan would be to rip the doors and hatch back off it .. And turn it into a "farm... Smart Car ?
