Had new fan clutch installed yesterday on the '98 E320 with 292K miles. It cools the engine great, but when accelerating in all gears car is now noisy -- wife says it sounds like a jet taking off at Dulles. It used to be a hot-in-summer but very quiet car.
It's seems to be "on" all the time. Shouldn't it be cycling on and off just when hot? Took it back today and mechanic says it's okay -- my wife says "I hate it the car now!" It just doesn't sound right...
