Key Won’t Turn Ignition Or Unlock/Lock Doors Please Help

What's going on everyone I'm new here and I've been having some problems I just need some answers. Ok so I have a 2001 CL500 it was driving well until I came outside one day and the key wouldn't unlock/lock the doors and the key wouldn't turn the ignition to NO position...but the steering wheel is unlocked so after I was angry about it I let it sit for about 7-8months without doing anything to it then I decided to mess with it about a month ago..I bought a brand new battery and I bought a...
