93 300SE with seal issues

My 93 300 SE was at the dealer today and I was told that the transmission outflow shaft seal ($460) and the differential pinion and side seal ($1200) were oozing small fliud and that I was not urgent but somehing that needed looking into. What are your thoughts on the subject? Is that pricey? Can I get a better deal elsewhere in chicago?
