Map/reading light circuit board

Hi all, just wanted to know if someone has ever replaced the integrated circuit in the dome light circuit board, that controls the lights when opening the doors..in my '93 320SL, my lights work independently, but they won't go on when i open the doors. It seems the Philips UAA1250 IC blew and I wanted to replace it. I have one extra but it's from a '90 300SL, part of the numbers match but not all, so I'm looking to find if someone knows if it would work or not. Attached are 2 pics from both...
