Help wanted to visually diagnose PSE pump components

My PSE pump has never worked as long as I've had my 300SE (10 months now). I disassembled the pump and the motor is definitely toast, with carbon dust everywhere. But I also wonder about the condition of some of the other components inside that pump housing. For example, it looks like I'm missing a black plastic screw in the area circled in red below: And for the black plastic screws that are there, the distance between the screw and the two...
