I have an '87 300TD with 200+k. About 6 years ago I had a problem with the oil cooler. At the time had it pressure tested, and bolted it back on. While putting it on, I accidentally pressed on on the i.p. shut off. It made an odd noise and stayed in the down position no matter what I did. The project got put on the back burner for years, but today I had time to try and start it. I propped the shut off lever in the up position thinking it would allow the engine to start.
