2001 ML320 steering too light at highway speeds

I just bought a 2001 ML320 with 70K on it. Looks brand new. I didn't drive it too much since a dealer was selling it. Later noticed that the steering never gets heavy as it gets up to highway speeds. It feels unstable at 70 to 80 mph. Tracks straight as an arrow an smooth as glass. Where would you veteran ML owners start. Thanks,
