2001 ML55 AMG Stock Exhaust Pipe Sizes

I am working on my 2001 ML55 AMG exhaust. The decorative chrome exhaust tip rotted away from the muffler. The muffler pipe and the exhaust tip are in good shape. All that rotted away was about two inches of the muffler pipe on the passenger side. The driver's side is still solid. The muffler pipe appears to have an outside diameter of 2 1/2 inches.
